Welcome to Dala Cottage, your flexible and affordable home from home. Our aim is to ensure that you are able to feel that you have a warm, welcoming environment that accommodates you and your beautiful family.

We think our cottage has a lot going for it, with a ten minute drive to Säfsen Ski Resort and incredible fishing lakes all around. In winter Säfsen offers incredible family skiing facilities, snow camp and the famous kids Filurius Club, while in summer the terrain is known for it’s über hiking trails and mountain biking facilities. Chanterelles and berries are in abundance, with easy walking facilities and picking options for all age ranges.

Dala Cottage sleeps up to four adults and has facilities for babies too. There is one master bedroom with a double bed and full wardrobes and another bedroom upstairs which can either be configured as two singles or one large double.

The cottage is newly renovated in light tones and offers a comfortable space for both parents and children alike.

In the kitchen you will find brand new facilities with modern appliances and plenty of cookware, pots and pans. We offer two options for those travelling from Stockholm. Fully self-catered where guest supply their own groceries or an alternative where we offer a meet and greet in Häggvik, Vallentuna or Rotebro and we provide a catered option according to chosen menus. If you forget something we do have a little ‘Uh Oh’ Store in the basement, you can choose swish, cash or bank transfer.

Traveling with children

As parents we understand the challenges that come with travelling with children and we have done our best to ensure that we have thought of all the little details so that you don’t have to.

We ask that you respect that we are in a quiet peaceful community and as such dont have crazy parties that would infringe on our neighbours peace and quiet. Of course accidents happen and just let us know if they do but please respect our house as if it were your own :)

Why can't I call Aran (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Aran (the owner) a message.

If Aran (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
