Description

Bell Island Cottage is located on the LaHave Islands only 20 minutes from Bridgewater Nova Scotia on the scenic South Shore. You will be on the last Island connected by road on a 3 acre lot with 200+ feet of ocean frontage. The property offers complete seclusion but you are only 5 to 15 minutes away from the following:

- Risser's Beach Provincial Park and Campground

- 1 mile long Crescent Beach

- Petite Riviere Vineyards

- A general store in Petite Riviere which has atmosphere, a fully stocked liquor commission and occasionally local musicians.

- The renowned LaHave Bakery on the LaHave River adjacent to the Cable Ferry which begins your journey to the towns of Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Chester

- Weekly Farmer's Market

The cottage itself offers ocean views from every room and every bed. Wake up and go to sleep seeing, hearing and smelling the ocean. Completely renovated in a nautical theme mixing tradition with modern comfort, easily accommodating 6 people. The master bedroom has a 4 poster queen sized bed with fine linens and a high end mattress which will rejuvenate you. The second bedroom appeals to kids and the young at heart with a cozy single over double bunk with a view of Bay Beach on Cape LaHave Island. There is a large living room, full kitchen with a bar seating area looking into a south facing sun porch. All with ocean views so spectacular you will feel like you are on a ship. Three piece bathroom with a tub and shower.

Hop in the 4-5 person row boat, and row to one of the nearby islands to explore one of the many secluded white sand beaches, dig clams and pick mussels (boat and tools included with rental). During July - September, even the inexperienced fisher can use the row boat to go fishing for mackerel with the prime locations indicated on a map in the cottage. The fishing gear required is very basic and the owner will be happy to tell you what you will need.

On calm days, one of the most peaceful ways to explore the islands is by kayak. Seals, porpoises, waterfowl, shorebirds, and osprey are often encountered. Kayaks are available at additional cost. Please contact for details.

For spring 2016 there will a deck on the ocean side of the cottage, boat launch, and a seating area with fire pit 15 feet from the water's edge.

“Fantastic Coastal Retreat”

The photos on the internet don't do this one justice. The location is amazing, very quiet and peaceful and we had daily visits from a red fox, deer, and bald eagles. The cottage was amazingly clean on arrival and we really enjoyed our week here. Good for kayaking and we visited some of the deserted beaches with them. Highly recommended.
