Description

The "Our Luxor" Holiday Apartment is the only luxurious "1001 Nights" themed apartment in the whole of Luxor, and what's more it is right in the middle of the old town; the Medina, if you like. A comfortable and romantic oasis after a day of exploring!"Our Luxor" is also the only English owned and managed B&B in central Luxor. The reason we operate this B&B is mainly because of our desire to help new visitors to Luxor gain the same sort of pleasure from the town, the antiquities and the people that we ourselves have come to enjoy over many years. Our one bedroom guest apartment accommodates couples with a king-size bed, and is furnished with beautiful items which have been specially commissioned and hand made, or are antiques which have been collected from far and wide. Our guests have a completely separate (whole floor) apartment, with a large livingroom in the Ottoman style which is air-conditioned, as is the quiet bedroom, which has an en-suite W.C./shower room plus there is a separate W.C. The lovely kitchen is stocked and fully equipped with all the usual necessities, including a fresh coffee maker. Clothes laundering can be arranged with the owners. There is a balcony off the livingroom, and guests also have unrestricted access to our roof terrace, with both sunny and shady areas, and views over Luxor town and the Theban Hills on the West Bank.Guests at "Our Luxor" are given an initial walking tour of the locality by the owners, which usually includes introductions to some neighbours and local shopkeepers and traders. The owners are available 24/7; either in person at their apartment (same building) or by telephone (supplied) when either are out and about. Breakfast on our roof terrace is normally a time of lively conversation regarding the coming day's adventures, between the numerous delicious courses, that is."Our Luxor" is less than 200 metres from both the tourist and local bazaars. We're a 10 minute walk to the banks of the mighty River Nile, crossing the newly excavated 2.7 km long "Sphinx Avenue" and passing by the fabulous Luxor Temple on the way. Local shops and restaurants abound! Our neighbourhood is wholly Egyptian! No other foreigners live nearby and most of our neighbours are Muslim, although the area is known more as a Christian area, with a Christian school for boys very close-by and a new 9000 capacity Coptic Church within 300 metres. Our nearest main road carries one-way traffic, and 'hail and ride' public service mini-buses travelling Northwards pass the end of our alley, about 15 metres from our building entrance. Buses travelling Southwards pass along another one-way street which is about a three minute walk away. Airport transfers included in price for stays of 3 nights or more.No visitors, only paying guests in apartment.

“A Jewel in Luxor”

Freda and Edward are amazing hosts – not only is their apartment a charming place to stay, but also they were extremely helpful in every way, before and during our visit, to make our stay in Luxor a special experience. The apartment is like a true oasis in the middle of the gritty and somewhat chaotic street culture of an Egyptian town. Not a typical tourist neighborhood, but still an easy walk to Luxor Temple. From the street entrance, you would not think that you are entering such a fine, well-kept, and beautiful apartment, yet to stay there is simply wonderful. Freda and Edward obviously care very much for the place and for their guests. They were very careful and thorough with advice on tour guides and activities, and truly generous with their time to make specific arrangements directly with the guides, so that we could save time and make the most of our short 2 night visit. Even though there are amazing ancient places that anyone can see in Luxor, Freda and Edward made our overall experience truly unique and pleasurable.

How do damage deposits work?
