Grannies House, A breath of Fresh Air. Grannies house was inherited by the brothers Paulo and Julio Nobrega. A home were both brothers have fond memories of visiting the Island of Madeira to be with their Grandmother. The memories of walking the village, laughter, family time, making beautiful memories.

Today the Nobrega brothers renovated Grannies House to a comfortable home with a taste of luxury. The essence of comfort and peace with the edge of adventure at your very door.

Grannies house is made of the levels. Ground level is the main entrance and very large garage. The garage is equipped to store all sporting equipment , bicycles etc.The main entrance is met with a short flight of stairs.

The first floor (main floor). At the top of the stairs one meets the dining room and Leisure Lounge. Very spacious and comfortable. enough seating space for a family dinner or an evening of entertainment.

Down the corridor: First entrance to the left is the kitchen, fully equipped with microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, stove/oven and dishwasher.

First to the right is the third bedroom with a queen size bed which is easily converted into 2 single beds.

2nd entrance Left: The Full Bathroom.

3rd entrance Left: The main bedroom with a queenside bed and a luxurious en-suite.

2nd Right: The second bedroom. Again either a queensize bed or 2 single beds.

Through the kitchen is the laundry room with a washing machine, ironing board and iron.

Up the second flight of stairs is the second floor. This beautiful space is a large space with a queenside bed, a lounge where the sofa is easily converted into a double sleeper bed. the ensuite bathroom has a shower.

having said all this one must note how Grannies House is in a central position in Machico village. The supermarkets are a mere 5 minute walk on one side and the beach is a 5min walk in the opposite direction.Cafes, bars, restaurants and bakeries are all around on your walk to the supermarkets or to the beach. Pharmacy is almost an arms reach with the local emergency centre another 10 min walk.

Grannies House will be the perfect spot to feel at home in a far away place.

Getting around

A hired vehicle allows to get around at ones own leisure and convenience. Taxis are situated and visible at most corners,if necessary. Our bus station is close and the bus stop terminals are even closer. I can email a bus route should one need one. Our Public transport is excellent and drivers are timely.

How do damage deposits work?

If Dina (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
