Description

This is the COMBO of both of our unique spaces which are the Malibu Retreat. These include both the Music Promoter Guest House and The Happiness Bus - both of which are on the Malibu Retreat compound (along with the main house, where we live). This combo booking is best for a bigger group, 2 families or 2 couples who want their own unique spaces while sharing a property & shared pool etc. Nestled in the mountains halfway (5 Miles) between Malibu’s famous beaches & chic Calabasas. We enjoy mountain views, magnificent pool & jacuzzi, hikes, woods, fresh air & peace. We’re remote, exclusive, and still close to it all. If you don’t need so much space, see the individual listings for the Happiness Bus or the Music Promoter Guest House- both at the Malibu Retreat.

The Music Promoter Guest House has an upstairs loft which consists of 2 small open bedrooms- one side with a yummy queen bed with down comforter and the other with 2 twins.

Downstairs you'll enjoy a very large living space with couches, Phillip Stark swivel chairs, a futon, dining room & kitchenette. TVs connected to Amazon Fire with Alexa remote. For entertaining there is also a Harmon & Kardon stereo equipped with Bluetooth, a cd selection of music and inspiration, family games and a real life vintage Centipede arcade game for you to play (Yes it still works)! Kids & adults alike have fun with the voice activated Phillips Hue colorful accent lights!

The downstairs areas of the Guest House are separated by Soji screens. One side has a sitting area decorated with some of our favorite artists Gold & Platinum Records or autographed posters and the other side is a dining areas with a retro mini kitchen with the basics (refrigerator & freezer, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker). It has a full designer bathroom equipped with various amenities from all over the world (shampoos, conditioners and lotions), and a private patio area with a BBQ with a stove top that leads to the shared pool & jacuzzi!

The second spot of this combo listing is located on our lower wooded lot. The Happiness Bus (from the Netflix documentary “expedition happiness”) can sleep 4 more people (via 1 queen bed & 1 double sofa bed). Guests enjoy the woods experience too- while being on the same property!

All guests also have use of our pool and jacuzzi (which can be heated with a few hours notice & a fee) & will enjoy stunning mountain views as you lounge around.

Please know we have 4 awesome dogs... (so we hope you like them). If you have a pet too... let's discuss.

There is plenty of onsite free parking. And while we respect the privacy of our guests, some (or all) of our family are often here in the main house as well.

Getting around

We suggest our guests have a car. You’ll have your own parking spot (or 2 or 3 if needed & requested). But know that we’re tucked away in the mountains... so getting around without a car is possible, but very challenging.

Interaction with guest

All or some of our family is often here in the main house and we love to help make your vacation special. Whether its just recommendations for where to go or what to do - or arranging private Yoga classes for you on our patio, guided hikes in the mountains, energy healing massages and/or mediations or tours of Venice, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Hollywood etc... we're here to help make this a special vacation for you. Our co-host Brittney can customize an entire spa / retreat week or weekend for you - like we have done for so many around the world.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

How can I retract my booking request?

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Michele and shawn (the owner) a message.

If Michele and shawn (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
