Description

Malibu Music & Yoga Guest House at Malibu Canyon Retreat is the perfect combination of exclusive tranquility & accessibility to all. Enjoy the morning fog as it rolls over the mountains, take a hike, a swim or do yoga on the deck. 5 miles equidistant from Malibu's world famous beaches & Calabasas. Our Guest House is great for some alone time, a friends' retreat weekend, lovebirds romantic hideaway or full family adventure! See our Happiness Bus also to sleep more!

We sit on 2 acres that back up to 10,000 acres of parkland (our home is right across the driveway). Guests have their own private patio next to our beautiful shared natural pool & jacuzzi.

The upstairs of the Guest House consists of 2 open loft "bedroom areas" - one side w/ a queen bed & the other w/ 2 twins. There is also a full size futon downstairs & sectional sofa for maximum sleeping up to 8!

Downstairs large living space is separated by Soji screens. One side has a large dining room table, a sitting area, a retro mini kitchen for easy breakfasts and lunches (mini refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster oven & coffee maker) and designer bath. It's decorated with the owner's collection of platinum records & cool memorabilia of the wonderful artists she’s worked with or gotten played on the radio.

The other side of downstairs is a large space with comfortable couches, desk, stereo system, plasma TV w/ Amazon Fire stick & a voice activated Alexa remote control that also changes colors of controls the Smart Home Phillips Hue accent lights. We also have an old school centipede video arcade game that still works! We provide a collection of inspirational books and cds for our guests to enjoy.

The “smart lock” entrance opens to your private patio & gas BBQ with a stove top which connects with the shared pool, jacuzzi and mountain view’s!

We also just added the Happiness Bus (from the Netflix documentary “expedition happiness”) to our property. That’s why we created the name Glamp Grounds - because now our 2 acres has our Guest House, our main house and our Happy Bus down in the oak grove. If you’d like to also book the bus, sleep 4 more people & enjoy the woods too, ask us here or look at the listing that says BOTH or COMBO!

Getting around

We suggest our guests have a car. You’ll have your own parking spot (or 2 or 3 if needed & requested). But know that we’re tucked away in the mountains... so getting around without a car is possible, but very challenging.

Interaction with guest

Guests will have the full Guest House to themselves, parking, a private BBQ w/stove top & patio outside the door that leads to the shared pool, jacuzzi and Malibu Canyon / Santa Monica Mountain Range.

-we can pre-heat the jacuzzi for you with 3 hours notice
-the canyon is very quiet & sound travels... so outside music hours are 9am to 10pm
-house rules” ask that you leave our home as you found it and that only registered guests enjoy our shared pool & jacuzzi areas.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Michele and shawn (the owner) a message.

If Michele and shawn (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
