Description

Be captivated by the romance and history of a picturesque period Palazzo…

Surrounded by the romance of rolling vineyards, this noble 17th century Palazzo enables groups of 10 to savour the timeless appeal of world history and regional gastronomy, on the doorstep!

The very villa in which Emperor Napoleon resided and signed the peace treaty with Genoa, Palazzo Tornielli is steeped in political history, as well as classic beauty and timeless home comfort.

The beautiful villa and grounds retain a wealth of period elegance, alongside the must-have mod cons such as free WiFi. On arrival, guests will enter through an enchanting courtyard entrance, which leads into a grand entrance hall furnished with precious Persian rugs and fine antiquities.

The ground floor comprises of the principal rooms for entertaining and relaxation. A fine drawing room complemented by a sumptuous sofa suite, Murano glass chandelier and flat screen TV leads through to an inviting salon with ambient fireplace.

A fabulous dining room decorated in a decadent fashion with Rococo frescoes, leads through to the famous ‘Napoleon Treaty room’. The room in which Emperor Napoleon signed the Genoa Republic peace treaty provides a captivating ambience in which to entertain guests with ‘wow factor’ dinner parties.

The ground floor is serviced by a generous country-style Kitchen with rustic vaulted ceilings and adjoining breakfast room. All the necessary appliances are provided including a range cooker with oven, a coffee machine, electric kettle, dishwasher and fridge freezer.

From the entrance lobby, a flight of stone steps leads to the upper floor. There 6 gorgeous period-style bedroom suites feature. The bedrooms are furnished in a classic antique style and each benefit from a Double bed. All but one-bedroom suite benefits from an En-suite bathroom (3 are fitted with shower, 1 with a Jacuzzi tub and the 5th en-suite with a bath tub).

Outside, the timeless villa oozes nostalgic romance; with an Italianate garden featuring alongside a gorgeous courtyard and a wisteria-covered terrace with rattan sitting area.

The Palazzo is situated in Monferrato Mombello; an area famed for its white truffles, premium beef, hazelnuts and superb regional wines including Barbera, Grignolino and Freisa.

During the truffle season, Villa guests can hire a local truffle hunter to source and bring back wonderful white truffles, to adorn their self-catering meals at the villa.

Bike trails and horse riding tracks provide the perfect way to take in the beautiful surrounding countryside, whilst those seeking a cosmopolitan buzz are within easy reach of Alessandria (20-minute drive) and Turin (60-minute drive away).
