The home is a quintessential old house in Montreal, featuring wooden ceiling and windows and original pine wood floor giving the home its character, comfort, warmth. Michel the housekeeper takes good care of the home and can help you with almost everything if asked. Location is absolutely amazing on a very quiet street just 30 second from the metro station Charlevoix and only 8-10 minutes' walk to Atwater farmer's market overlooking the heart of Lachine Canal. Located minutes away from the doorsteps are grocery store IGA, ethnic eateries, pharmacy Brunet, a public park and a public swimming pool. Also, the metro system gets you all around the city. Guest bedrooms have high speed wi-fi and hot breakfast is provided.

Q) Can you show people around? Or, are you busy working?

A) If you get bored traveling by yourself, I would be willing and able to show me around Montreal. Otherwise, I can offer recommendations of important places to visit, or of must-have experiences to have. If you prefer privacy, that's the default! A few days before you arrive I will send out a PDF with lots of information in it. This includes how to get into the home, places to visits and much more.

Q) Is the room clean?

A) It's very clean, I clean it thoroughly.

Q) Why is it so cheap / inexpensive?

A) I like to meet new people from all over the world. If you're in the startup/tech industry all the better!

Q) Are these photos authentic / real / representative of the room?

A) Yes, absolutely, the place is exactly as you see in the photos.

Q) What size is the bed?

A) It's a double size and could fit 2 people.

Q) Is Internet wi-fi available in your home?

A) There is wireless throughout the home.

Q) Does the room have air conditioning?

A) No, but the room has a portable fan unit.

Q) Can I do a load of laundry?

A) Yes.

Q) If we were to stay at your place, what do you recommend us to bring? (ex.towels, dishes, shampoo, etc.)

A) I provide clean towels, clean slippers, hairdryer, blankets, dishes, shampoo/conditioner/soap, water, tea/coffee. You will need to bring your own personal grooming supplies i.e. toothbrush (Although I do have new spare toothbrushes)

Q) Does the room have a refrigerator?

A) No. There is a hot water kettle to make coffee and/or tea in the kitchen however.

Q) Can I check in/out late?

A) I have no problem with check-in/-out times. The only time there may be an issue is when another guest is checking in the same day that you're checking out, so please let me know when you will be arriving and departing.

Q) Can I store my luggages at your home after I check out?

A) Yes, absolutely, I have done this for multiple people that are going away for the day or for a few days.

Q) Do you prefer to go to bed early or late?

A) I am an early bird; however each guest have the privacy of their own closed room and so bed time is up to you.

Q) Is there a curfew?

A) No, I give you a key to the house and you are free to come and go as you like.

Q) Do you have extra pillows?

A) Yes, I can provide extras if you want.

Q) How many people live in the home?

A) Two, Jasmine and I are the only long-term tenants.

Q) Do you have pets?

A) Yes, I have a cat. He is super lovable and like to be fondled.

Q) Is your area / neighborhood safe?

A) Very safe, my home is located near the metro station Charlevoix and police patrolling is frequent. You will feel completely safe in my area. Minutes away from our doorsteps are grocery stores, ethnic eateries, a pharmacy, a public park and a public swimming pool. Within walking distance is the Atwater farmer’s market overlooking the heart of Lachine canal.

Q) What part of Montreal is the home in?

A) South West of Montreal/ Lachine Canal district as it's now called. Located near the Lachine canal, my home is 30-second to the metro station Charleviox. Public transit is easy with three bus routes; bus 57 and 107 brings you right to Guy Concordia and McGill areas respectively. Approx. 20 minutes walking distance to downtown. Bike lanes are available throughout my area and biking is highly encouraged.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Ze Hao (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
