If you love the outdoors, nature, animals and/or want a unique retreat, experience or adventure, you'll love Yurts in The Country! Set in a farm 10 minutes to amenities and the beach, our Mongolian yurts offer a unique, comfortable and exotic glamping experience with pond view.Enjoy the pond's tranquility and beauty steps from your yurt. Connect with nature while rejuvenating self. We're close to regional parks, lakes, rivers, country & farmer's markets, art galleries and local attractions.

There are two guest yurts, Elm Tree and Dragonfly each with its unique energy. All yurts overlook the pond and have ready access to the deck with hammocks and outdoor lounge area.

Dragonfly - (12’ yurt) has a double mattress, dimmer rope lights to add to the special energy and outdoor chairs and table to enjoy the view.

Elm Tree - (20' yurt) has a queen size bed, twin sofa bed, toaster-oven, mini fridge, sink and a one burner butane stove. Also dimmer rope lights to add to the special energy and outdoor chairs to enjoy the view. A double air mattress may be added to Elm Tree for 1-2 additional guests, if needed (additional charges apply).

Canada Goose - Shared washroom has a claw foot soaker tub, hand-held shower head, flushing toilet and a retreat-like energy.

Stand Alone Rustic Rain Shower - If you prefer taking a shower instead of a bath, we have a rustic rain shower on its own spacious cedar stall. It’s located behind the small yurt next to a wooden shed.

Explore the various attractions in one of our bikes, experience Zebra Dragonfly Pond's tranquility in our paddle boat, or read a book on a hammock as you enjoy nature by the pond. The pond provides habitat is to many creatures, including mallards, Canada geese, great blue herons, bufflehead ducks and kingfishers.

Both yurts have coffee makers, coffee, tea, cutlery and dishes. There’s also an outdoor propane bbq and dish-washing area.

While at the farm, you will undoubtedly see our charismatic, social and joyous chicken family. Prince Charming, our handsome, gentle and charming rooster, stands out as he’s the only male amongst 30 beautiful chickens. Some of the chickens in the farm like to socialize outside their pen. Gloria, in particular, likes humans and sometimes might venture into a yurt if the door is left open without supervision. We prefer Gloria stays out of the yurts.

We care about the environment, conservation and sustainability. We use organic, local, cruelty-free, plant based products whenever possible. We reduce, reuse, recycle and compost.

Getting around

You can explore the many attractions by car, bicycle or foot. For example, it takes 10 minutes to drive to Parksville or 30 minutes by bike. The town centres are best to do by foot, as they're small and parking can be limiting. We are a 15 minute bike ride from Top Bridge Trail, from where you can explore Englishman River Regional Park. Also, there are four bikes here at 'Yurts in The Country' that you can use during your stay.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Marisa (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
