Watch the abundant sea life from the spacious deck! Explore by kayak, bike or go for long easy walks through miles and miles of trails. Tennis courts and award-winning golf course a stone's throw away. This spacious (1900 square feet) three-bedroom, two-bathroom waterfront cottage, only steps down to the beach, is a special place for a family vacation. It is situated on beautiful Dolphin Beach with stunning views across Georgia Strait to the mountains on the mainland. 

Located between Schooner Cove Marina and the Fairwinds Golf/Country Club, this is the perfect base from which to enjoy your Vancouver Island vacation. Take day trips to Victoria, a 2 hour drive or Long Beach/Tofino - 2.5 hours away. Although only 15 minutes from major shopping in Nanaimo, the cottage is quiet and feels very remote as the beach is accessible by only a few houses on the bay.

All the comforts of home are provided: fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, gas fireplace, TV with surround sound, Cable/DVD player/stereo, high-speed wireless internet, telephone, plus BBQ and patio furniture.

Relax on the large deck and watch the wildlife, which includes deer, herons, seals, sea lions, otters, eagles, and occasionally, orcas, humpback whales and dolphins. 

The living room overlooks the ocean with an entire wall of windows - the fireplace, TV and stereo are all conveniently located here. The dining room, with seating for 6, also looks out onto the incredible view. 

The master bedroom boasts views from floor to ceiling windows along one wall, a queen bed and an en-suite bathroom with a soaker tub and in-floor heating.

The other sleeping areas are also on the lower level, both with queen beds. The second has sliding glass doors that open onto a small deck that is just steps from the beach. The cozy third sleeping area has a pretty view onto the newly landscaped yard. 

There is an additional single bed in the loft overlooking the living room. This area can also serve as an office as there is a desk and Wi-Fi for your laptop.

Schooner Cove Marina is only a 5 minute walk from the cottage. You can arrange to have kayaks dropped off there or book a tour to explore the area by water. 

The small mall in Nanoose, a 5 minute drive away, has a fully stocked supermarket, gas station and post office.

* Less than 1 km to the award-winning Fairwinds Golf and Country Club. 

* 10 minutes to the world class spa at Tigh-na-mara. 

* 15 minutes to Rathtrevor Beach in Parksville.

* A few examples for short day excursions are: Cathedral Grove, Goats on the Roof at Coombs, Englishman River Falls, Qualicum Beach, Little Qualicum Falls, murals and live theatre in Chemainus.

How do damage deposits work?

If Gillian (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
