Description

This updated 19th century farmhouse is the perfect place to host friends, family, or colleagues in a quiet place where you can enjoy nature in all its glory. So if you are planning a retreat, a family reunion, a wedding, or otherwise just want to have a great vacation, we can accommodate your needs.

Sunshine House is part of Windhorse Farm, a sustainably managed Acadian woodlot, wood products supplier, and organic farm. Visitors to Sunshine House have direct access to many miles of walking trails through Windhorse's 200 acre pristine Acadian forest preserve. Further, it is only 15 minutes from the town of Bridgewater and it is close to the South Shore of Nova Scotia, where the ocean is your playground. You can easily drive to Chester, Mahone Bay, or Lunenburg to sea kayak, swim, sail, play on the beach, shop for antiques, or just about what ever you like.

The main house can sleep up to 11 people in 5 bedrooms. There are two rooms with queen beds, and 3 rooms with single beds. There is room for 9 more in the attached Carriage House, all in single beds. All amenities are provided, including sheets, pillows, towels, and the kitchen is fully complemented. There are 2 full bathrooms in Sunshine House, a large modern kitchen, a smaller kitchen in Carriage House, and all appliances you might need. All you need to bring are groceries. There is also a large wrap around porch where you can sit and enjoy the views of the lake or the sounds of nature. Both places are heated for year round use.

Other amenities include a campfire pit, a sauna, an old barn which you can explore and the organic farm next door with seasonal garden produce.

The price on rentals does vary somewhat, based on how many beds you might need. You can rent just Sunshine House for 9- 11 people to sleep at $550 per night. Add the Carriage House for 9 more beds for an additional $100 per night.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Kip (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
