Spend unforgettable vacations on Shingle Lake. With distances of 25 minutes to Bridgewater and 30 minutes to Kejimkujik National Park, the loveliest in Canada, this new log home is the ideal location for shopping and trips. Don’t miss to visit the beautiful white beaches of Nova Scotia! Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, Chester and Liverpool can be explored during a relaxed day trip. At least Halifax is only a 75 minutes ride away. In our log cottage you can easily swim, canoeing, fish, hike and play golf during the summertime. This piece of paradise is perfect for couples or families to relax and let your soul.

Shingle Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in Canada. Experience wilderness and marvel at an awesome starry sky in the evenings or have a camp fire at the fire pit outside. Sunrise Pines is the Canadian Dream! Luxury, romance and plain recreation!

When you arrive our English speaking housekeeper will welcome you, will explain you the most important things and hand over the keys. We will welcome you with a “welcome pack” for first supply!

Internet can be booked with owner before or during your stay.

Canoe (3 persons), life wests and paddles available.

Security camera outdoors. Videos are only stored and evaluated in case of need.

Getting around

We provide catering of German cakes to the cottage. Only you as our guests will have the possibility of having a German dinner nearby. The dinner has to be booked until 10:00 a.m. the same day.

Interaction with guest

Our housekeeper will welcome you and see you on your departure day. She will show you the house and she will be there to answer your questions as well. An individual Arrival time should be agreed before your visit.

Owner's reply: Sehr geehrter Herr Lehmann, Sie haben unser Cottage in einer absoluten Ausnahmesituation besucht. Auch wenn unsere einheimischen Housekeeper selbst unter dem Hurrikan glitten haben, wurde sich mehrfach und mit allem was man zu dieser Zeit tun konnte um sie gekümmert. Ein Kanu braucht auch wenn es für 3 Personen ist, zum fahren, nur 2 Paddel, eins für den Vordermann und eins hinten alles andere wäre im Weg. Die Dusche ist eine kanadische Standarddusche in gutem Zustand. Unser Haus bietet eine Feuerstelle und einen Grill. Alles Dinge, die man für einen schönen Sommerabend benötigt. Auch Holzkohle und Feuerholz wird kostenfrei gestellt. Das Haus wird nur im Sommerhalbjahr vermietet, das macht das Nutzen des Ofens unnötig. Zumal das enorme versicherungstechnische Konsequenzen hätte, die wir auf die Gäste umlegen müssten. Wenn es dennoch einmal kühle Tage gibt, so verfügt das Haus über eine Elektroheizung, die es kuscheln warm werden lässt, in unserem kleinen Paradies am See.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
