WiFi is now at this cottageThis is a family owned Canadian summer cottage sleeps 9 on Indian Lake in the heart of the Rideau Lakes cottage country with 169' of prime waterfront.nbspIt is located on a private dead-end road with about a dozen cottages that have been in the same families for years within walking distance of the scenic Chaffey's Locks.This is a summer cottage and is ideal for a group where some family members would like to stay up and some would like to sleep in. The separate sleeping cabins, a few feet from the main cottage, make it comfortable for both the early birds and the night owls.The area is known for its crystal clear lakes on the Rideau waterway system, the Rideau Canal built in 1832 and North America's oldest continuously operating waterway. The Rideau is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and stretches from the Ottawa River to Lake Ontario and the St.Lawrence. A boating and swimming paradise.Indoor amenities:There are 3 cottages, one for living and two for sleeping sleeps 9. A 2 acre beautiful treed site with circular drive, has a rock garden and outdoor patio for BBQing and relaxing. Of the 5 bedrooms, one bedroom has a cathedral ceiling, twin bed, the second has a cathedral ceiling, 2 twins and the two share a jack and jill full bathroom with showertub. The third bedroom has a queen and an ensuite with shower, the fourth has two singles with an ensuite. Last but not least is 'Blue Heaven' a cabin on its own with a doublenbspbed and an ensuite with shower. Blue Heaven, with its small blue cathedral ceiling is perfect for the kids or the folks !All bathrooms are white with white tiles.nbspThere is parking for 5 cars on the circular drive.In the main cabin, a gourmet open kitchen is surrounded by a screened-in porch with views of the lake and the sunset from the dining table. In the kitchen, a large curved counter with seating allows family to talk to the chef or sit there and be served breakfast.nbspStainless steel appliances include fridge, dishwasher, Breville cappuccino machine and outside propane stainlessnbspBBQ. Adjacent to the kitchen is a laundry room with front load washer and dryer. A small extra bar fridge and water cooler are out on the porch next to the bar.A cathedral ceiling with fireplace insert in the original stone fireplace is in the main cottage with views of the lake and passing boats. Games and puzzlesnbspare included to play on the handsome vintage 1950's bridge table. A bookcase with books and magazines for all interests is in the living room to enjoy during your stay.There is a dining table both inside and outside in the screened-in porch.Outdoor amenities:There is an outdoor ping pong table.Down at the dock there are two boathouses, one large enough to drive your boat into comfortably and jump out with a roof overhead. Boats can be rented from the local marina and there are two 1-person kayaks available to guests.Swimming is fantastic in the clear waters of Indian Lake.Chaffeys Locks and the re-vamped historicnbspOpinicon Lodge is a ten minute walk down the private road. Access to the Catarqui Trail is also within walking distance, the Trail following the old railway line.The Rideau Canal is recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and was rated 2 as an exceptional historic site destination by National Geographic.The Rideau Lakes Region is a great place to explore. How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If the property manager agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
