PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DEFAULT RATE LISTED IS THE PEAK SUMMER RATE (last 3 and first 3 weeks in July/August) .....DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE FOR OTHER TIMES AND FOR MORE THAN ONE WEEK STAYS...SEND INQUIRY TO DISCUSS....A stone's throw from the Bayside village wharf, this 3,500 square foot oceanfront cottage offers beautiful views of the Penobscot Bay on four floors of living with a gorgeous 450 square foot roof deck 50 feet above the water. Watch the yacht club races or check on your boat on our mooring out in front of the house. The house is elevated and built into the hill with stairs to the beach. There are a number of kayaks and water toys typically stored on the riprap above the high tide mark. While houses are fairly close on either side of the property, the interior was renovated in 2008 with maximum windows facing the water and sun, and minimal windows between the house next door neighbor. The Beehive is decorated in a classic New England style, with reclaimed hardwood floors, a cottage kitchen and an open floor plan for entertaining groups. There are five bedrooms with three full baths, and room for 12 in a king, queen, four twins in two lofts, and two bunk beds in the beehive. Peak Summer Rates include up to 8 people, non-peak weekly rates are lower, but only include 2 people in the base rate.

Interaction with guest

The cottage has a code to enter, so you can have as little interaction as you want with us. There is a professional management company on duty and a handy man on call as needed. In addition, we are often right down the street in one of our other cottages. We do ask at a minimum that you call the management company when you arrive to "check-in" and when you depart to "check-out". There is a guidebook that can help you with things to do.

House rules

The village has very old and historic cottages...No fireworks allowed in village for fire safety. Similarly bonfires are only allowed on the beach below high tide mark and cannot be within 75 feet of structures (includes wooden staircases to the beach). Please note that means only near very low tide by this cottage.

There is parking for four cars only at the cottage. It looks like there are more but please do not park in front of the neighbor's house. Cars can be parked down by the wharf too.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
