THE CAPTAIN`S HOUSE is well equipped and beautifully decorated place where on the ground floor you have a kitchen, living room with TV, a music library, a large library of DVDs , a fire place, study, bedroom with a double bed, bathroom with a shower and perfect (and covered) terrace with outdoor dinning area. On the first floor there is a living room with TV, bedroom with two single beds, 2 bedrooms with double bed and one of them with en-suite bathroom with shower, family bathroom with a bath tub and shower, also a big terrace with very nice and comfortable outdoor furniture.

There is a BBQ outside, a 24m2 swimming pool 1,4m deep with perfect view on the sea, you have a couple of places with comfortable seating set so you can find your own perfect spot to completely relax in your well-earned holidays.

Omis is an ancient market town sat against the majestic Mosor Mountains and where the River Cetina meets the clear water of the Adriatic Sea. It is an ideal base for exploring the Cetina Gorge where hiking, mountaineering and rafting on the river are popular adventures. The towns well preserved 16th century fortress affords spectacular views from its hilltop vantage. The town's main claim to fame is as the center of Dalmatias' pirate history and folk music (Klapa). The main beach is long and sandy with shallow waters. The town is full of excellent restaurants, serving great food, delicious fish, to the best steaks ever, and mouthwatering pizzas.

We are a British couple from a beautiful part of Northern England. We fell in love with Croatia 9 years ago and wanted to have a home there in the mountains. We eventually found the right house, in the mountains yet over looking the Adriatic and the beautiful island of Brac. It is in a unique location, down a small lane of only a few houses, in a very natural environment of fir trees and wild flowers, the air is so pure you relax immediately . Although located in the mountain, you are still close to Omis, the Cetina River and only 19km to the City of Split, were the old part of the city is a palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian and is Unesco protected.

We have spent many years renovating the house, inside it is furnished with a mixture of family furniture and beautiful fabrics, that we hope complement the traditional Croatian house. It has a courtyard with a BBQ, the area is filled with plants and flowers, a great place to enjoy a glass of wine and relax in the evening. The pool hangs on the edge of the mountain with the best views ever.

Although the house is a great place to relax, it is also child friendly, it has two sitting rooms each with a TV and plenty of space to play. We have six grandchildren who just love their time there.

We hope you enjoy the house and will fall in love with Croatia just as we did.

Nearest shop is just 3 km far or 2 min driving in small village Tugare, and the nearest restaurant is also 3 km far in small village Naklice named Konoba Palacio and offers local food and is very traditionally decorated. You are less than 10 min of driving far from small town Omiš where you can buy local fruits and vegetables on open market that is opened all day, where you have a lot of restaurants, bars, sand and pebble beaches, day trip offers and shops.

Location was interesting, steep mountainous climb in a car around s bend roads to the house but only 5 mins in a car to Omis town. Need a car. The river and canyon were very pretty. A stunning view from the house. The house was well kept, clean, great bathrooms. ( avoid back to back showers as the water capacity has enough for 2 hot showers at one time). English owned so great choice of library and games in English. TV channels had a choice of English/American programmes. The house was modern but quirky, lots of African influence. Kitchen was adequate, fridge freezer good. Mattress was too soft and pillows too hard for our preference but this is a personal requirement and can’t please everyone on this. There is a washing machine so can reduce amount of packing, towels and hairdryers provided. Mirjana, her husband and Nickolina were very helpful and friendly, really wanted to please us. Nickolina made us home made cakes and there was also a lovely welcome basket on our arrival. The weather was poor during our stay so pool not really used, it was clean. We travelled and visited many places. Plitvice Lakes well worth, beautiful and stunning, go early as 3 hr car journey and lots of tourists by lunchtime. The lane is a track road to the house being renovated when we were there but not likely to be disruptive from June for the rest of the season so shouldn’t be an issue we would recommend and would stay there again although our next visit to Croatia will be a sailing holiday.
