Country living close to the heart of Ottawa; Navan is 25 mins east of Parliament Hill.

Private, and cosy this rustic cottage is located in the safe,desirable, neighborhood of Navan village.

The property offers clean space and simple living.We like it that way and we hope you do too.Great for couples, solo adventurers and families. A human race friendly location!

Pets may be accommodated if requested and accepted before booking.

The surrounding area includes farms as well as individual homes.

An unpretentious listing ... a favorable rate.

A short drive to Petrie Island nature trails and beach, walking and cycling trails,golf, horseback riding, with a wonderful variety of stores minutes away.

Close to the Prescott Russel recreational trail where you can enjoy a pleasant walk or bicycle ride. Most use the path for relaxation, and exercise but it does run from Ontario into Quebec; offering a challenge for the adventurous.The trail is kept well groomed all winter. If you love to walk, snowshoe or Skidoo, this trail is for you!

Private Yoga classes and personal training, with qualified instructors can be arranged.

If you love yoga don't miss Yoga on Parliament hill. Every Wednesday from Noon to 1pm Canada's Capital Ottawa hosts yoga on Parliament Hill; Admission is free; everyone is welcome!

With the understanding that the guests are here to visit, or work, in Ottawa and the surrounding area, and not to visit me, I will interact with guest as much as is required. I will be available to share my knowledge of the city and the area however, if making myself scarce is what the guests want I will be happy to oblige. Some people enjoy interaction; others want less. I will explain how things work and will make myself available for questions whenever necessary.

Must visits in downtown Ottawa include: The Parliament Buildings ,the National Art Gallery, the National Arts Center, The Byward Market, Rideau Locks,The Museum of Nature and Major Hills Park.

After visiting the National Capital sights enjoy a change of pace. Navan enjoys a substantial amount of green-space. Historically a rural farming community, the village enjoys an enviable community spirit. The Navan Fair ( Hosted in August) is a must see. One friend, visiting from the UK, admitted he had never seen so many tractors in his life!

During the fair you can dance under the Pope Domes and enjoy the Navan parade* Possibly the only parade in North America with more people participating than watching?

2mins -1.5 Km Navan Hockey arena (Finalist in the Kraft Hockey contest).

2mins-1.5 km Navan curling club, agricultural building, ball diamond, park and fairground. Events happen under Navan's famous Domes. Airlifted to the park in 1984 and used for the Papal Mass when Pope John Paul XXIII visited Canada; The Domes are located next to the local park and Curling Arena. During the Navan Fair Listen to live music under the Domes.) The Navan park is a lovely family park !

4mins-4km The Domaine Perrault Winery , offers complementary wine tasting in a relaxed atmosphere. ( a not to be missed outing; bring a picnic!)

10mins-10 km Bearbrook golf Club.

15 mins-20km Mer Bleue Walking Trails “Mer Bleu has been designated an internationally significant wetland under the United Nations' Ramsar Convention.” “The different loops may be completed in any combination, providing a walk as long as 12-km, or as short as 2.8-km. Each loop is numbered as a separate trail.” (Taken from the “Ontario Trails council” website.)

20 mins-30 km Calypso Water Park . The biggest theme water-park in North America. Offering 35 water-slides 100 water-games and summit tower the tallest water-slide tower in North America and a one acre wave-pool. Open from the June to September 1st (Information taken from the Claypso website.)

35 mins-40km Nordik spa in Chelsea Quebec ( If you love spas this is the ultimate!)

1 hour -65 Km from Mont Saint-Marie Ski Hills

Getting around

A car is needed to fully apprecitate the area. We are not located on a regular bus route. Ottawa is a lovely city; but not easy to get around by public transport.

Interaction with guest

You will be welcomed at the cottage and shown around. If you arrive during the night, or outside of our availability, we will arrange for a key to be left in a lock box; you will get the code the day of arrival upon contacting us. We will be available during your stay to answer any questions you might have . We will not disturb you during your stay. If you contact us we will respond promptly. The only time we will come onto the property is at your request; If snow needs to be cleared, plants watered, or grass cut. We will try to organize property maintenance outside of guest visits;

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
