Description

This Beautiful Fairmount home boast over 2,000 SQF and is located in on of the most desirable neighborhoods in the city. Farimount is unique in that it is central located key attractions and parks, while being a true Philadelphia Neighborhood, where the “locals” hangout. Ready more about the area below, or feel free to email me with questions.

Look up this article: Natalie McDonald: Why Fairmount is Philadelphia's best neighborhood

We wanted to keep some of the old world charm, so the floors boast a rustic original feel. All wood through-out. The Kitchen has a nice bar you can eat your morning meal at, or grab the table. The main bathroom, well the Pictures tell it all – Large Stone Tub and Custom wood working!

The back yard is larger than most in the area and offers a great place to sit relax and enjoy your community.

For the families: No other neighborhoods can boast the access you have to green space, Parks, and activities. Check out the Zoo (walkable if you like walking) – Art Museum (Summer art activities for children), Smith Playground, Discovery Center, Please touch Museum, Franklin Institute, Academy of Natural Science, The Public Library or one of the many others.

Fairmount Ave has lots of great shops and restaurants.

Amenities- Do not forget that we are in Whole Foods-Prime Now delivery zone. Feel free to have all your groceries arrive before you do. We can stock your shelves before you get there. Happy to receive your groceries beforehand. If you prefer to do your own shopping, Whole Foods has several great local restaurants that you need to check out.

In home meal deliver is offered by Caviar, UberEats, Postmats and Grub Hub. So feel free to open your phone and order an amazing meal in. You might even want to schedule an in home massage with Zeel or Soothe.

Getting around- We are located right by the Trolley stop which connects you to Nothern Liberties and Fishtown. Multiple bus lines will get you all around the city. Easy access to the Stadium via the Trolley and the subway (or Uber and Subway).

Fairmount has some great restaurants, whether it is just Pizza or something a more geared for your inner foodie. Check out Amano! Amazing high fair that is also a BYOB. Do not forget the amazing BYOB opportunities in Philly. Because of our Quaker roots, you will find access to amazing restaurants where you bring your own!

Here are some restaurants to look at:

Pizza – Angelino’s, Lazo’s or one of the others

Organic – FAIR

Greek – Zorbas (Also a BYOB)

Mexican – La Calaca Feliz

BYOB- AMANO

BAR – Crime and Punishment (and 10 others)

Coffee Shops – Many great ones

Quick sandwich – Brown Street Coffee for their Banh Mi

If you are not from the area, the “Neighborhoods of Philly can be difficult to understand. Two homes on the same street can claim two different neighborhoods, or not claim any neighborhood at all – The difference – Philadelphia does not have “legal” neighborhoods. While there are historical boundaries, realtors and individuals alike tend to stretch those boundaries in order to make a house sound more desirable. All that to say, this house is located on the “historical” north border of Fairmount with most people extending that border to Girard and points north. You get the added access of being close to the Brewerytown business corridor – complete with local brewery Crime and Punishment. (The history of Brewerytown and the fall of the Philadelphia Breweries – thanks to the prohibition – is at the very least and interesting read)

About this house – City Records indicate that this house was built in the 1920s, but pictures from before that time suggest otherwise. It seems that the city records put most homes at 1920. We believe it was completed in the late 1800s.
