Very Romantic Cabin in the Woods, on the Water, with Ultimate Privacy. There are no neighbors, just wildlife and an occasional beaver or canoe gliding by.

This is a terrific opportunity to experience the beauty of the natural wilderness from the comfort of the sofa :). Or, if you enjoy outdoor adventure, there is ample opportunity. The cabin is all windows, it sits directly over the water, the view is stunning. We turn off the lights at night, turn on the fire, and enjoy the reflection of the moon off of the lake, just beautiful. The sight of the early morning fog lifting off the lake is worth the early rise.

The cabin sits directly over the outlet of Piseco lake, 500' of private waterfront with dock and boathouse. 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other with a double. There is a cozy TV and reading room for movies and catching up on that great novel. We have one bath inside (shower only), an outdoor shower (during warm months), indoor propane fireplace, outdoor fire pit, a very well equipped kitchen, weber grill, indoor and outdoor Sonos Stereo, wifi, 40" flat screen for netflix movies and DVD player (but no cable). Accommodates 4 persons max but is the PERFECT romantic getaway for two.


Many hiking opportunities to remote lakes, rivers and mountains nearby, see our pictures for some of the local views which are just stunning. A visit to the Adirondack Museum is a must. There is of course the unique opportunity to enjoy some of the best kayaking directly from our boathouse.

An easy kayak 10 minutes to the right and you will find yourselves on beautiful Piseco Lake. Kayak 30 minutes to the left to a more remote wilderness lake (experienced kayakers only this way - may have to do a small carryover depending on level of water that day). Or you may choose to just paddle around out front. In either direction there is plenty of natural wild shoreline and wildlife to explore.

Most of our waterfront is too shallow to swim, except for one deep swimming hole, but you can kayak 10 minutes to the lake and enjoy the clear water. stunning vista and sandy bottom of Lake Piseco. Pull up on one of the many small rock islands and swim from there.

This cabin is like being inside a snow globe in the winter. There are so many windows you are simply surrounded by the snowfall, it's a beautiful sight! The water views are ever-changing, the ice flows come and go and change daily, very pretty views year round. 2 sets snowshoes provided plus one child pair. A unique winter feature is that the water out front never freezes (it's slow moving) so you have year round lake and wildlife views.

Many winter hiking, snowshoeing and x-country and downhill skiing adventures to be found locally. Great winter fishing, active otters and minks are frequently seen playing and fishing out front. There is a fun small downhill ski mountain, Oak Mt in next town over. Gore is 50 minute drive. This is snowmobile country - hundreds of miles of groomed trails through the woods and across the many lakes here. Stop in to a local pub for lunch and a beer - and head out to the next lake. Local snowmobile rentals and lessons/guides available.

But our favorite activity in winter is sitting by the fire with a hot cocoa and observing the changing ice flows and the active wildlife on the lake, all from the comfort of the sofa :) In winter an all wheel drive vehicle is necessary to navigate our woodsy dirt driveway. It is plowed regularly, but can be tricky in bad (or depending on how you look at it - good) snow. Other option is to leave your car at end of drive and walk in.


This is a no parties, no smoking, NO PETS (sorry we cannot make exceptions, please don't ask!), allergy sensitive household. No more than 4 persons here at any time. We do our best to keep a pristine home, we are sure even the most discerning guests will be very happy here.

Best things about the cabin? Complete privacy, amazing views of a wild and beautiful natural setting, very nice decor and furnishings. Guest wildlife sightings so far have been deer, baby and mama bear, buck, bald eagles, blue heron, minx, otter, coyotes, owl, loons, lots of birds and fish, great variety of ducks, fox.

What would we change if we could? Although you see no one from here, there is the Outlet Bridge on Rt 8 near enough that you can hear cars going over it when outside. We do appreciate, however (as do many guests), that we can have ultimate privacy without being too far from civilization. The cabin is very easy to get to.

Also, please note that RECYCLES are a real hassle here. Guests must agree to take home what they bring in, with the exception of small amounts (no more than 1 bag of recycles!). For the small amount of recycles that you leave, you must agree to follow the towns strict recycle rules - they must be kept clean and separate from garbage. We (i.e. the housekeeper) then have to take them to the dump and separate them into bins by hand. We simply cannot handle this task if large amounts are left. So if you bring lots in, you must agree to take them out!

Midweek dates offer some great rates. We have many return guests, so if you like it here and want to come back, we offer reduced rates during our non peak times to our repeat guests.
