Description

Please see our other listing on flipkey the Bishop's Loft; for references, house rules, policies, and additional photos. Central air relieves lake humidity and cools your bed room (with private bathroom and accommodating two adults; crib and cot available for infant/toddler for additional $20) available in Victorian home 5 mins. walk from sandy shallow beach, quiet friendly little village of Port Burwell. Dogs are welcome for an additional nightly fee of $10 ( rules for dog stay to be discussed prior to booking) to be paid on arrival unless there's another way to do it. The Plumtree Room is named for its view of the side garden and plum tree from which I make home-made jam, and has its own unique 3 piece ensuite and elegant dark furniture. Netflix is in your bedroom. Off-street parking and central heat add to your comfort. Enjoy your favourite novel or play cards on the sunporch. or relax in the shady garden or in the living room. The local river is just a two mins walk, and it's just as close to restaurants, antique and other shops, public library (use my card), 7 mins. to rent canoes and paddle boats, 5 mins. to historic lighthouse and museum, the 1836 Anglican church historical site, and of course the new pride of Port Burwell, tours of the retired 300' Cold War submarine Ojibwa, a branch of the Elgin Military Museum. Great location for power walkers/runners/cyclists. We are considered warm hosts who respect privacy. We're located about an hour from various popular larger towns. Continental breakfast will be served at 8.30.. Our restaurants offer delectable local perch and pickerel, pizza, beach and pub grub, Mexican, chicken, pasta, etc. If you're not arriving by car, there is taxi service from nearby towns. We appreciate at least 24 hours notice. no smoking. strict on the property. Run/powerwalk/birdwatch down the trails and roads and swim in the lovely shallow waters of Lake Erie (weather permitting...it's a long season down south here). Multilingual hosts Jeff and Marion look forward to pampering and entertaining you!
