Truly a hidden gem!

Warm and welcoming, this hand crafted cabin at the end of a wooded lane offers totally privacy and seclusion. Built by a famous classical musician as a secret romantic escape, the cabin is an enchanting mixture of nostalgic touches and quirky elements all in an idyllic seaside setting where the air is pure and the view is magical.

Walter’s Cabin is an open concept wood cabin with a cathedral ceiling. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, living room, dining area, bedroom space and bathroom. Built by Walter for his bride Ruthie, it really is a lovers retreat. There is a double bed in the far corner of the cabin and a claw foot bath at one end of the bedroom. A wood stove adds to the cabin’s cozy and romantic appeal.

Walter’s craftsmanship and Ruthie’s imaginative style is evident throughout. A beautiful hand crafted dining room table and tapestry covered wet bar all add a personal touch and reflect the artistic nature of its owners. The cabin is blissfully without TV or Internet, so there no distractions. There are however, plenty of books, cards and CDs for entertainment. Cell phone coverage is good, so you won’t be completely disconnected, unless of course you decide to turn the phone off and enjoy the tranquility.

The surrounds are a nature lover’s paradise with hiking trails and white sandy beaches to discover. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area: seals, shorebirds, seagulls, cranes, rabbits, chipmunks, deer and raccoons. There may be black bears in the park and if you are lucky you might spot an eagle flying overhead.

The house and grounds are yours to enjoy. There is a salt water pond and walking trails to the beach and around the property. The beach is a mix of white sands and pebbles. At low tied it is possible to walk for miles along the shoreline.

Why can't I call the property manager before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send the property manager a message.

If the property manager agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
