Description

Osprey Point is located on outskirts of the small fishing village of Port Medway on Nova Scotia's famous Lighthouse Coast. At the end of a winding gravel road, the house sits in its own private enclave overlooking the Medway River Estuary.

A large three storey house, Osprey Point is an ideal choice for family reunions and friendly gatherings. The ground floor has a pleasant sitting room with propane fireplace, a bedroom with queen size bed, and a three piece bathroom.

On the first floor there is a large well equipped kitchen, a separate dining room, living room and large bedroom. The kitchen is nicely appointed with polished granite counter tops. Appliances include a fridge (with ice maker), stove, dishwasher, microwave and a selection of smaller appliances. A kitchen table with banquette seating is useful for casual meals. Bathed in light, the dining room features a beautiful wooden harvest table large enough for a family of 10. At the back of the room there is a working fireplace and a vintage couch. Sliding patio doors lead out to the garden at this level. In contrast, the living room has a warm and cozy feeling with knotty pine walls with exposed beams in the ceiling. Large windows frame the beautiful water views. Slouchy leather sofas with a wood stove all add to the comfort of the room. Tucked away in a cabinet is a TV for movie watching. A large dormitory styled bedroom with 3 bunk beds (sleeping for 6) stretches the full width of the first floor.

The second floor is a spacious master suite with bedroom, reading room and bathroom. The bedroom has a king size sleigh bed, a desk, plenty of closet space and a bank of windows that overlook the lighthouse and Medway beyond. The washroom is a paneled 3 piece bathroom with shower.

Outside, a grape vine covered pergola shades a large stone courtyard, with propane BBQ and patio furniture, creating a delightful alfresco living space. The lawn slopes down to the rocky shoreline and a boathouse in the shape of a lighthouse. A distinguishing feature the lighthouse has a large field stone first floor topped with a glass box that drinks in views from all angles. The lighthouse has no navigational function, so lights are for decorative purposes only. Don't worry - you won't be woken up by a foghorn or a blinding light!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

If the property manager agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
