Description

Originally built in the 1940's as a traditional summer retreat for a large Lisbon family, it is set in its own private grounds with a family sized-pool, large patio/barbecue area, lawn, drive and garage/games room with adjoining changing room and facilities.

It is ideal for a large family group and/or friends looking for a base to enjoy the holiday resort of Praia das Maçãs with it's family friendly sandy beach, ideal for surfers and with many restaurants to choose from, which is also close to historic Sintra and easy travelling distance from Lisbon.

The well equipped Villa can accommodate up to 12 people in three double bedrooms (two en-suite) and three twin bedrooms (one ensuite) with an additional bathroom downstairs and a shower room upstairs. There is a spacious lounge with satellite TV, DVD and WiFi, the separate dining room is beautifully decorated with traditional Portuguese tiles and the large kitchen has been recently refurbished with two fridges (one for drinks) two dish-washers and a range cooker. Two baby cots are also available at request.

“Great NewYear at Casal de Santa Maria”

We wanted a week away over New Year with a party of 13 aged 5-80 with plenty to do and see and the ability to eat out or in. the villa was perfect. the log fire kept us cosy in the evenings when the temperature dropped, but during the day there was plenty of space for the active to play a great selection of games provided, and for those who wanted to read in peace in the sunshine, it was great. Everyone is now converted to the joy of underfloor heating in the bathroom though! The villa was furnished with beautiful antiques but had all mod-cons where you need them with 2 fridges, 2 dishwashers, washing machine and wi-fi. Ralph was very helpful and knowledgable in the planning stages, and recommended two great seafood restaurants (Buzio and Nortada) for New Year's Eve and day. We wandered into the village in the mornings for coffee and delicious pastries, played on the beach and in the sea (only the youngest and hardiest!), visited Sintra and Lisbon and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

How do damage deposits work?

If Ralph (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
