Description

Qualicum Beachside Cottage, a comfortable old time seaside retreat, offers a perfect spot to escape for fun in the ocean, relaxation, beach walks, or to retreat and recoup in the winter. We’ve put a lot of thought into making sure our guests have almost everything at hand that they might need for a fun get away. This old timer cottage is comfortably decorated including a well equipped kitchen. Just pack your bags and come settle in. A first day breakfast basket is offered so that you can arrive knowing any early morning "munchers" are taken care of.

The living/dining and kitchen area fill an open space overlooking sundecks and the ocean. Relax in the comfy living room area which is a step down from the kitchen/dining space. Step out to a large deck through sliding doors to lounge in sunshine and relish the smells and sounds of the tidal waves, calling gulls, eagles, cranes, seals and otters as well as the occasional whale. The space features a TV with a large selection of channels, plus Netflix and YouTube. WIFI is provided.

The dining area has an extendable table that can seat up to 6-8 people, and a lovely oak sideboard. At the end of this room is a cozy corner with games, books, toys and a double futon sofa for any additional guests.

Master bedroom – Looking out over the ocean with sliding glass doors that open to a deck at the beachfront, this room has two double beds, small bureau, alcove closet and en-suite bathroom with a shower-tub combo.

Bedroom Two – This cozy room faces onto the private courtyard on the road side of the cottage, and has a queen sized bed, reading lamps, and closet.

Bathroom Two – Adjoining the main living space, the cottage’s second bathroom has a dedicated laundry space plus bathroom with shower.

Kitchen – This simple galley kitchen offers all you need while on your get away. Fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans, glasses, etc, it also has a microwave oven and dishwasher.

The cottage is equipped with games, books, toys, beach toys, beach towels, picnic table and deck chairs overlooking the ocean, as well as a paved side yard with a basketball hoop. Wander the beach, play in the surf, then spray off the sand under the outdoor shower. For an old fashioned treat, ( possibly one your kids have never seen or used?) a laundry line on the ocean side allows you to dry your towels and clothes in the seaside breeze.

While this Qualicum Cottage, like most others in the area, sits close to the road, it remains quiet inside with little traffic noise, and when enjoying the beach front, the road traffic is not an issue at all.

There is ample parking on site for an RV or camper.

Restaurants, corner grocery stores as well a paddle board and surf rental store are all within walking distance of the cottage. Nature Golf and Water slides at Riverside Resort is a short walk away, and the Marshall-Stevenson Wildlife Sanctuary is along the same stretch of beach as the cottage.

Interaction with guest

We provide guests with an access code for the door in order to be able to have an easy self-check-in. Managers and staff are all local to the area and able to assist if/when necessary, other than that we give you your privacy. Though we might say hi if we're walking our dogs on the beach and you're out in the yard.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Stacey (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
