Description

MONTE BRANCO (monte/farmhouse) is situated on the edge of a little hamlet in the heart of typical Alentejano countryside, with its ancient olive trees, corn and sunflower fields. Peace and tranquility is only interupted by the sound of birds and goat bells. The nearest village Motrinos is 1 km away, a short walk for local shopping, (fresh goats milk cheeses.) The historical World Heritage town of Monsaraz set within its ancient fortified walls high on the hill, is about a 5 minute drive; there are several excellent restaurants, craft shops and a castle dating back to the 11th century. Nearby is the newly formed lake, Alqueva, the biggest in Europe, a natural reserve with fishing and boating...and a sandy beach

The well-known city of Evora ia a 40 minute drive, and within easy reach are the towns of Vila Viçosa, with the King's Palace, Borba, Estremoz, Elvas and Badajoz in Spain.

MONTE BRANCO consists of four houses,(sleeps 20/26) set around a garden full of palm trees and flowers bordering the lawn; an oasis of green amongst the summer dryness. The spring displays the most spectacular countryside full of colour and wild flowers. The Celeiro varandah and Pool have wonderful panoramic views to Monsaraz, especially at night when the town is all lit up.

CELEIRO (Old Barn) has recently been converted into a large (150 m2) communal room, with large fireplace for cosy winter relaxing. This is an ideal room for workshops - yoga, painting, dance, etc; for small business meetings; or just to relax or party with friends.

CASA ANTIGA (sleeps 4/6)

The old farmhouse dates back 300 years, has a living/dining room with huge sit-in fireplace, a Kitchen with old slate countertops, two bedrooms which have the original domed ceilings; one Bedroom has two single beds, with two extra drawer-type pull-out beds, another bedroom has a large double bed; one bathroom with full bath/shower.

SUITE AMARELO (sleeps 2/3 ) bedroom with double bed, sitting area (small single bed) with breakfast-maker unit, en-suite bathroom with shower.

CASA PISCINA (sleeps 2/4)

The Pool house next to the covered BBQ area, has a living room with big sit-in fireplace and domed ceiling, a fully equipped kitchen - microwave, dishwasher, etc.; one bedroom with double bed and single bunk bed above; one bathroom with full bath/shower. The living room has a double sofa bed.

CASA JARDIM (sleeps 2/4)

The garden house, on the other side of the lawn, has a living room with kitchenette and fireplace; there is an alcove with a double bed and a single bunk bed above (and a 2 single beds in the livingroom); one bathroom with full bath/shower. There is a covered terrace for outside dining.

CASA DO FORNO (sleeps 4/6)

Adjoining house dating back 300 years, entered independently directly from theroad, recently restored as simple farmhouse accommodation.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

If Jane (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
