Description

At Aquitaine you will quickly feel at home and relaxed. Set on three levels, the first level is an open-plan kitchen, dining and rest area, opening out onto a sheltered verandah. A short step up and you're onto the sleeping section, with three private bedrooms. The main has two single beds and an en suite toilet, shower and basin. The mountain bedroom has a queen-sized bed, while the ocean-side bedroom has two single beds. A separate bathroom features a toilet, bath, shower and basin. All beds have fitted cotton sheets, pillow slips and summer duvets. Additional blankets are stored in cupboards.

Upstairs is an open entertainment area with large-screen cable TV, fireplace, and wrap-around balcony. At the top of the stairs is an additional cozy little bedroom with two bunk beds and a wardrobe.

In the kitchen you will find a Smeg gas stove and oven, microwave, dishwashing machine and a large double-door refrigerator/freezer. The scullery contains a chest freezer and a washing machine. Appliances include a toaster, kettle, french press, and blender.

Outside the house, near the back door, is an open-air hot and cold shower, to rid yourself of salt and sand after a day on the beach.

There is a cellular tower in Rooi-Els that provides an excellent 3G signal for Vodacom and Cell C networks. MTN signal, while not quite as good, is still strong.

Freshly painted and newly furnished throughout, Aquitaine is a holiday home you'll want to return to time and again!

Getting around

An hour's drive from Cape Town, Rooi-Els is close enough to the crowds if you want them, and far enough away to make time stand still just for you. Being a small town, you will be able to cycle or walk anywhere in the village, shop for essentials or pop out for a drink or a meal. Pringle Bay is a mere 5 minute's drive away and offers more shopping and dining choices, and the well-stocked town of Gordon's Bay is just 20 minutes by car along spectacular Clarence Drive - voted the world's most scenic coastal road. What more could you want?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Gordon (the owner) a message.

If Gordon (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
