The 7500+ sq.ft. 11 bedroom estate is only 1 hour north of Montreal. The property is hidden on a hill behind a cluster of pine and maple trees. In front of The Great Chalet is Lac des Sables beach and marina, where many activities take place. The location on the hill allows you a beautiful view of the beach and marina. Sit back and enjoy watching sailboats, pontoons, para-sailers navigate by the lake as the sun sets behind the hills.There are enormous windows throughout the estate boasting bright light inside the entire property. Meanwhile, the views looking out are breathtaking. There is truly a sense of serenity as you sit by the fireplace. There is a sense of home. There are several terraces throughout the property. Whether you are having a coffee on one of many balconies or just taking a walk on the property, there's a peacefulness that can't be described.Enjoy activities like bicycling, swimming and trekking on the many paths near and around this beautiful property. Also offered are boat, kayak, canoe rentals at the bottom of the property, as well as a sailing school. It is walking distance to the many bistros, boutiques and restaurants, where you can enjoy cruise, concerts and festivals in the summer. In the winter there's winter festivals. In proximity to the best ski hills, snow mobile trails, nordic spas, horse back riding and Train du Nord bicycle path.

Owner's reply: Thank you Michael for your detailed review. Just a little correction. There are 10 full bathrooms in the cottage and 10 air conditioning units throughout the cottage. Our kitchen is an open concept with an L-shaped counter overlooking one of 4 living rooms. Everything else in your review was on point. How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Catherine (the owner) a message.

If Catherine (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
