Tin Poppy is a remote solar powered vacation rental located in the Larch hills between the Shuswap and the North Okanagan valley.

Tin Poppy is a 1953, 32 foot travel trailer approximately 200 square feet, encased in a modern screened-in post and beam structure bringing the space up to 1200 square feet in total.

The Tin Poppy experience changes with each season: in the summer it is a spacious airy dwelling that can accommodate up to 6 guests, and in the winter Tin Poppy transforms into a cozy ski cabin better suited to adventurous couples and small families.

All four seasons offer spectacular outdoor activities, so whether you're into mountain biking, birding, cross country skiing, fishing the Shuswap River, or simply seeking solitude in a beautiful natural setting, Tin Poppy provides a splendid and luxurious habitat.

SUMMERTIME

In summertime Tin Poppy can accommodate up to 6 guests. The master bedroom inside the trailer has a comfortable queen size 8 bed. In the second bedroom there is a twin bed, and in the living room of the trailer there is a queen sizes fold-down dinette. In the screened-in spaces there is a double futon on the main floor.

The Toilet Room in the Tin Poppy has a modern flush toilet and sink; there is also a clean and modern outhouse close by with a fantastic view. All the linens and bath robes are provided and are quality, high thread-count cotton.

Just steps from the main living area there is a modern private outdoor shower equipped with hot water on demand.

The kitchen is well-equipped with a stove/oven, fridge/freezer, and BBQ and all the cooking and dining wares you would need to pull off fabulous meals. So sit back and relax in the mid-century modern dining room as you stream your favorite music..Tin poppy has high speed internet!

WINTERTIME

Winter Glamping - Shorthand for glamorous camping!

Winter at the Tin Poppy is snowy, cozy and beautiful....and for the adventurous! Wintertime at Tin Poppy is best suited for outdoorsy couples and small families who love cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or just hanging out in a peaceful remote setting.

Tin Poppy is 6km from the Larch Hills Nordic Ski Trails. The cozy 200 square foot solar powered caravan can be heated with the gas fireplace and or gas furnace. Although still luxurious, during the winter months the Tin Poppy's water system is turned off. Water is provided in 5 gallon containers, and a large kettle is provided for heating water on the stove.

A beautiful outhouse provides a charming alternative to indoor plumbing, and for a shower alternative after your snowshoe outing... try the natural wood-fired Finnish sauna!

* Please be prepared for winter driving conditions*

Please do up all your dishes before you check out. Smoking around the fire-pit ONLY! Please keep pets off the furniture and supervised at all time, we have a small hobby farm and often our chickens are free ranging. Tin Poppy runs on solar power so please turn the furnace off or down whenever you leave, and the lights off too, thanks. Tin Poppy also gets its water from a shallow well, so we ask you to keep your showers on the shorter side.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Maggie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
