Description from owner

Description

'Arcadia' villa has been finished to the highest quality. It is set in grounds of over 2,500 sq. metres and whilst secluded is just 1km from the village of Karavomilos and 2km from the town of Sami.

The villa is the ideal location for all types of holidaymakers. Whether you are looking to just relax around the pool, to use as a base for seeing the delightful island or a combination of the two you will find Arcadia the perfect base, comfortable, attractive and perfectly located.

The villa, which has its own private pool has extensive gardens to all sides of the property. To the rear (south facing) there is a large paved area surrounding the pool with sun loungers and umbrellas. Steps lead down to an even larger landscaped grassed area perfect for a game of badminton (for the active) or for relaxing under the shade of one of the three olive trees (for the less active). At the top of the pool steps lead up to an impressive octagonal pergola and BBQ. The pergola was built in 2011 and is ideal for sitting with a coffee or fresh orange and watching the sun rise in the morning, taking a break from the sun during the middle of the day or having lunch or dinner. The brick built BBQ alongsiide, includes a sink, cabinet with granite worktop and fridge and is the perfect location for preparing and cooking (whilst your family and friends can watch on!)

Inside the villa a marble staircase leads to the first floor which has three bedrooms, two double (one of which is ''zip and link' and can be split into twin beds) and one with twin beds. A cot is also available. Each bedroom has its own balcony with views of either Sami Bay and the island of Ithaca beyond or of Mount Enos. The Master bedroom has an en-suite shower room. Each of the bedrooms is fully fitted and has wardrobes, dressing tables and bedside cabinets. A large family bathroom is also on the first floor.

On the ground floor there is a large open-plan area comprising of a comfortable lounge with modern Italian leather sofas, coffee and side tables, open fire (not needed but looks attractive!) TV/DVD ,radio/CD and Wi-Fi. Alongside is a dining area with chrome and glass table and six chairs. There is also a superb kitchen complete with fridge-freezer, oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher. Adjoining this area is a Utility room with a washing machine and a Cloakroom with toilet, hand-basin and shower.

Outside overlooking the extensive gardens there are balconies/terraces/ to front, side and rear of the property. Two mountain bikes, which guests are free to use are stored in a large shed.

As mentioned previously the villa is close to Karavomilos and Sami, both of which are within a 15-20 minute walk. The closest beach, can be found between the two villages and is a leisurely 15 - 20 minute walk through Olive groves. The beach whilst quite small is a perfect location for families with small children as the sea is extremely calm and gently shelving. It also has the benefit of being adjacent to the Melissani Beach Centre and. camp site which has a beautiful setting, large pool and excellent taverna offering a variety of food.

Slightly further away is the fantastic AnteSamos beach, possibly one of the best beaches on the island. Unless you are a serious walker a car or taxi is recommended as it would take about an hour to reach on foot! The beach has a couple of bars and tavernas and during the high season offers a variety of water sports.

There are many further beaches hugging the coastline from Sami to Aghia Efimia to chose from. However, car hire, which is reasonably priced, is recommended if you are to truly appreciate the beauty of the island, it's numerous beaches and places of interest.

“Amazing place to stay and visit”

Reviewed 6 Aug 2017

Well, what can I say! An amazing villa, brilliant facilities and an owner who can offer help as it is needed. We stayed for 2 weeks, 2 very hot weeks I must add, and had a fantastic time. The four of us had ample room to relax, laugh, play games, and admire the views and nature. The pool was lovely and used loads, the BBQ facilities were great and we enjoyed many evenings eating the locally purchased food under the pergola. The nearest shops were about a 30 minute walk away, but this didn't hinder the evening treks through the streets to the shops and restaurants and the a taxi back! Overall, we loved the place and would happily recommend Arcadia to anyone. Just one word of advice, try and bring a torch as the island is unspoilt with very few street lights. The views of the stars and the Milky Way are magnificent! Thank you Rob and all the support team! Jackie, Bill. Amelie (15) and Bob (13)

“Lovely week away at Villa Arcadia”

Reviewed 26 Jun 2016

My friends and I have just return from a wonderful week at Villa Arcadia in Kefalonia. We couldn't have picked a better villa. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners sister and partner who lived next door. Arcadia was very clean and relaxing and had all the kitchen equipment needed for a group of foodies. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool during the day and having BBQ's in the evenings sitting under the pergola. Arcadia was also in a great location - a 30 minute scenic walk to the sea and town, with a great choice of restaurants and bars. We would definitely recommend this villa to a group of friends or family looking for a relaxing holiday.

Owner's reply: Thanks Charlotte, Olivia and I are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay and I have to say that all the feedback we have received about you and your friends has been so positive. We would welcome you back anytime.

“Wow - best I've ever stayed at - great villa, great location, great island”

Reviewed 13 Apr 2013

We have stayed in Arcadia for the last consecutive seven years - it almost feels like a time share!. We have always taken great pleasure in staying in this secluded, but conveniently located villa. It is sometimes a struggle to leave the villa to see the rest of the island - but it is worth the effort ! When we book with Rob & Olivia it is just my wife & myself - but then we invariably find that our adult daughter still wants to join us, because Arcadia feels like a second home to us all. Very high standard throughout.
