Description

The Walnut Tree villa's central position on the island ensures easy access from Kefalonia's airport, a half an hour drive from the capital of Argostoli. The villa is set in an acre of gardens and orchards with a large swimming pool - we also have table tennis, badminton and a boule court. Should you want to tear yourself away from the tranquility of The Walnut Tree, there are other major attractions nearby which include the cave/lake of Melissani, famous Myrtos Beach and the beautiful little port of Fiskardo. Activities available locally are sailing, diving, snorkelling, windsurfing, cycling and walking. There is a very good riding stable just outside the town of Sami and Donkey Trekking can be booked in the village of Grizata. There are tennis courts at Karavomolis. At Antisamos beach there are several good beach bars and tavernas, beach showers and great water sports, not to mention wonderful swimming in the sheltered bay. There are plenty of delightful restaurants, bars and cafes within a short drive of the villa in Karavomilos, Agia Efimia and Poulata. Four kilometers away, the bustling port of Sami has ATMs, a post office, medical centre, tourist office, supermarkets, bakeries and shops with many waterside tavernas, restaurants, ice cream palours and bars. However, the special charms of The Walnut Tree villa are the wonderful views of the Greek countryside and the mountains of the Kefalonian National Park of Aenos - as well as being centrally placed on the island - with nothing very far away.

Getting around

Kefalonia Airport (EFL) is an 40 minute drive away, with the ferry ports of Sami and Poros respectively 4kms and 18kms away from the villa. The mainland of Greece (Peloponnesus and Patras/Athens) and onward to Italy are easily reached from these ports.

Interaction with guest

During their stay at the villa, our guests are looked after by Ace Properties (Adrian and Caroline Hill). Adrian's mobile is on the arrival instructions. Adrian or Caroline will help with any information or problems that may occur during a rental period. Our excellent team service the villa once a week for guests staying longer than 7 days. The team who live locally will be able to help with information or questions that our guests may have. Ace Properties also look after the garden and pool. Occasionally we are on the island during the letting season and it has been a great pleasure to meet up with our guests face to face.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Rees (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
