Very Good

“Absolutely ideal place to get away and recharge the batteries”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2013

Lemon Tree Cottage is THE place to go if you want to get away and give your batteries a much needed recharge. The cottage itself is well presented, well furnished with regard to furniture and has pretty much all of the 'white' electricals that you and a partner could possibly want on a two week holiday. The TV has standard UK Freeview channels for those who require it but I can only genuinely confirm that this it works for BBC news at 10pm (it's the only time we had the TV on and that was only to find out what was happening on the rest of the planet). WiFi is available for guest use of email and minimal surfing (if you want to stream SkyGo then I would suggest that you've missed the point of coming here). The pool, which every time we have come has been crystal clear, and sunbathing area are clean and tidy and the hot tub has always been a toe tingling 40 degs Centigrade. The BBQ and viewing area are also superbly presented. The cottage itself is located in the hills approx 5 miles from the local town of Sao Bras and approx 20 miles from Faro airport which means that although not a necessity (there is a good taxi service at both locations) I would recommend a hire car. Sao Bras has at least 3 Supermarket chains (Lidl being 1) where you can buy pretty much anything you require if you want to do the self catering aspect and also many varied restaurants that are good value. There are numerous bars and cafes but to be honest I can't comment on them as we never left the cottage of an evening. The cottage owners, Mags and Ian, are extremely friendly, will be as sociable or as invisible as you require and always ensure that any problems are dealt with as quickly and as painlessly as possible. The 'get you in' pack of food and drink that they provide is superb and much appreciated. The only reason I have not recommended the cottage for those with young children is the swimming pool and the dangers associated. The cottage itself is gated at both entry/exit to the cottage itself and also the entry/exit to the steps for the viewing area thus providing a sealed environment. To finish, the biggest compliment I can pay Mags and Ian and their cottage is that it pains me to write this review as the more people that read it the more chance there is they'll want to come, and the harder it will be for me to re-book next year.

“An extremely good place to chill”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2013

Well, the end is nigh - our second holiday in such a wonderfully quiet, relaxing and well-equipped holiday cottage is drawing to a close. The owners, Ian and Mags, are exceptionally congenial and nothing is too much trouble. The cottage has everything you could want, including a dishwasher and washing machine along with its own swimming pool and hot tub, down to picking your own lemons!! Lemon Tree Cottage is only 10 mins from town by car and is in a reasonably private setting. What more could anyone want? Thanks again Ian and Mags for a perfect holiday.

“Tranquil haven”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2013

We had a wonderful weeks holiday at Lemon Tree Cottage. The cottage had everything you would require and the welcoming basket was very much appreciated after our flight had been delayed coming in. The views were beautiful, it was so peaceful and we felt like we had found a hidden gem! The hot tub was certainly a luxury that we used in the evening with a glass of wine, gazing at the stars. Its close to the restaurants and we drove down to the beach on one of the days. As we had the pool we didn't really feel the need to stray very far. Mags and Ian made us feel very welcome and we loved our stay and would highly recomend it! We will be coming back again.

“A perfect sanctuary for a relaxing stay”

Reviewed 26 May 2013

Being nature lovers, we chose Lemon Tree Cottage because of it's rural, peaceful, location away from crowds, noise and hustle and bustle. We were not disappointed; with breathtaking views en route to, and from the cottage itself, we quickly fell in love with the area. The owners Mags and Ian were very welcoming, laid back and friendly; nothing was too much trouble and they were very accommodating with our various requests! The cottage was cosy, comfortable, well equipped (with a good shower...v important!) - just what we were looking for. If you like walking and bird watching, this is the place to go...there are some excellent tracks where you can walk for miles and miles (just remember to take a map to avoid getting lost like we did). Climbing into the hot tub after a good day's walking (with dinner cooking on the BBQ) was just pure bliss for our aching muscles. We had a lovely holiday here and highly reccommend this villa.

“Beautiful Cottage in a beautiful location”

Reviewed 18 May 2013

Lemon Tree Cottage is a beautiful cottage in a stunning location surrounded by mountains and great scenery. The Cottage itself offers all the amenities you need plus more, including wifi, air con, satellite TV, CD player and a washing machine! The owners have thought of everything to ensure guests have all the home comforts to make your stay comfortable and practical. The private pool is fabulous and to top it off they have a hot tub and a BBQ so you can relax and dine with views of the Serra Caldeiro Hills. Perfectly located just outside of the town, Sao Bras which is only 5 minutes away, there are various restaurants offering all types of cuisines from local to oriental as well as a big supermarket, bars and other local amenities. We are already planning a return visit later this year and can't wait to go back!

“Lemon Tree is an idyllic spot of tranquility, relax to the max!”

Reviewed 19 Mar 2013

The cottage itself has everything you could need, and a most generous welcome pack that sets you up on what will be a gorgeous week. Outside then just has all you could ask for if you were in a five star resort, private pool, hot tub and fabulous viewing barbie area. Find your own little spot to read , sunbathe, have breakfast etc! While we happily spend all day without leaving the cottage if you feel like the beach Barril beach 20 mins drive away is gorgeous, we loved it. Also we drove down to the Algarve only about hour half on the motorway to the coast to the famous lighthouses which was fab to do and then have lazy day the next in Lemon Tree. Car hire essential, and the town is 3 miles away so be organised and shop for what you need so not in and out of car to shop! Cottage is only 20 miles from airport so very handy, you dont lose a day travelling, your holiday feels longer.

“Paradise in the Algarve hillside”

Reviewed 15 Mar 2013

After many trips to the Algarve staying in hotels and apartments my wife and I decided to rent a villa in the " real Algarve ". In June 2012 we rented Lemon Tree cottage from Ian and Mags, and what a great decision that turned out to be. There is a truly warm welcome from Ian and Mags, they go to great length to ensure your every need is catered for, example in the welcome pack there is a terrific variety of items to start your holiday. The cottage and pool area are spotless and well equiped. We felt we were included totally in the small community, the pool and hot tub are a bonus. The icing on the cake is the terraced veranda for barbecue, relaxation and magnificent views to enjoy with your after dinner drinks while listening to the birdsong. A car is essential for this rural cottage but a fantastic beach is only about 20 mins away and cool bag.beach umbrella etc are all provided. We cannot wait for our return visit in June 2013.

“Outstanding Cottage”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2013

We have recently spent a superb fortnight at this charming cottage. The location a short distance from Sao Bras and provided good restaurants and easy access for travelling about. The cottage had everything needed to make the holiday very pleasant, one of the best that we have used in the last 10 years in our holidays in the Algarve. The pool was kept very clean and a delight, the Jacuzzi was a very warm welcome to relax in late at night A special thank you to Mags & Ian who are excellent hosts, always there if needed but respecting our privacy at the same time. The cottage was more than adequate and very well maintained. One of the best fortnights away and would love to return -if you would have us? Mike & Jane, Hampshire UK

“Top Class Cottage with a Personal Touch”

Reviewed 11 Mar 2013

We stayed at Lemon Tree Cottage early in 2012 for around a week. Although the weather was not fantastic, the cottage and location was. The village is in a location that is "Non Tourist", and this made a real difference to the quality of the holiday. The hosts (Mags and Ian) ensured that our every need was delivered and the cottage itself was idyllic and welcoming. A log fire was provided for those not so hot nights and the pool and hot tub a welcome relief after a day at the Golf Course. We will no doubt return in the near future.

“A fantastic holiday with excellent facilities, location and hosts.”

Reviewed 7 Mar 2013

We very much enjoyed our time spent at Lemon Tree Cottage. We found the accommodation exactly as described and with all the facilities we could wish for. Owners,Ian & Mags were friendly, welcoming and available if we had any questions. The location was just what we were looking for.Very peaceful and relaxing. We had fanatastic weather so the large, private pool area was where we spent most days, often after a walk around the local countryside. We particularly enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub in the evening gazing at a sky full of stars. The nearby small town of Sao Bras had all the amenities we needed and also some excellent, reasonably priced restaurants. We will definately return.
