Description

Welcome to Quinta de Buzzards, located on the South coast of São Miguel, in the parish of Ribeira das Tainhas, Concelho de Vila Franca do Campo.

The fifth of Buzzards boasts a privileged location from which to explore the Island. It is 3 Km from the Centre of Vila Franca do Campo the first capital of San Miguel, the 20 Miles of Furnas and 30 Km from Ponta Delgada.

The name of the farm of Buzzards is due to the fact that two couples of buzzards pick the location as their habitat. It is a privileged place for observation of these birds for their resemblance to the Azores are at the origin of the name of the archipelago.

With 11.300 m2 area, the regional road to the sea, was owned by the District Governor, John Francis Mann Bettencourt. The chroniclers record the presence of this noble family on the island since the 18th century. The Museum of Vila Franca do Campo is located in the main house of the Botelhos that belonged to the same family, which unveils its important economic and political position.

The three largest nearest beaches are Pebble d'areia the 500 m, Came the 3 km d'areia and Água d'alto to 5 km.

The fifth of Buzzards develops its activity in a sustainable way while respecting nature and in accordance with the principles of Permaculture.

“Our stay at Quinta de Milhafres”

Fernando and Paula where very helpful through out our two week stay. All we needed in the property was there. The property is in a stunning location with view very close to the sea in one of the nicest parts of the island.

How do damage deposits work?

If Fernando (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
