Description from owner

Description

Clandy Cottage is spacious yet homely. It is a renovated section of a 200 year old Breton longere, which in its past life was a cider press and farm building. The remainder of the longere is unused giving Clandy Cottage privacy, peace and quiet. It is ideally suited as a romantic getaway for a busy couple who need to have time to relax and unwind. Many guests have said that the photos do not do Clandy Cottage justice.

Being on the edge of the village provides the best of both worlds - the centre of Seglien is only a pleasant 3 minute stroll away, ideal for wandering up to get your French baguette and croissant each morning, whilst the absolute

tranquility is interrupted by the occasional farmer's tractor coming back from the surrounding fields, this makes for the ideal location for a restful break.

“Well equipped lovely Gite in a perfect spot for a relaxing break. We would definitely return”

Reviewed 5 Jul 2015

We had a really nice stay at Clancy cottage. There is very little in the village so be prepared to venture out and discover Brittany which this central location makes very easy. The cottage is great and has everything you need for your stay. We would definitely recommend it and would also return for another holiday.

“The perfect get away”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2012

We loved staying here - so much that we intend coming back to the area next year. Accommodation is very spacious, with all mod cons required to make your stay a home from home. The cottage is beautifully restored, in a peaceful location, and easily located for sightseeing. My partner and I needed a relaxing getaway, and thats exactly what we got. The cottage lived up to and beyond our expectations, thank you.

“Far from the madding crowd”

Reviewed 2 Nov 2011

It is difficult to imagine anywhere so sublimely peaceful - yet in a typical French village, and in easy reach of many interesting places in Brittany. The conversion itself is to a very high standard, although we did struggle getting our suitcases up the spiral staircase. But that's a minor quibble. The local countryside was ideal for walks, the village bar was welcoming, and the morning croissants were delicious. All at such a reasonable price - no wonder it gave us a holiday to remember.

“Quiet, rural getaway”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2011

I wanted a comfortable gite in a quiet, rural location and that is exactly what this is. The gite was newly converted and tastefully done. We had all the necessary equipment in the kitchen that we needed and even had a barbecue on two nights. It was a very restful stay. We visited local towns/villages and spent a few very enjoyable hours canoeing one afternoon. The only down side if there is one was that there wasn't a restaurant within walking distance - but it turned out OK as we had barbecues with a bottle of wine and that was just as enjoyable. Obviously due to its rural location you need to have a car. Lachie and Sally who look after the gite were very helpful.
