Description

Are you travelling in the region of Västmanland and looking for a genuine accommodation at our farm you will find our cozy accommodation 'The Old Cottage'. This timber log cabin is a beautifully renovated Swedish log cabin from the early 17th century. This cosy cottage can accommodate up to 4 people and is has original features and details.

The sleeping accommodation comprises a double bedroom with two single beds (attachable) and two original ‘sleeping closets’ with single beds; a real sleeping adventure for children!

There is an open plan living room with kitchen featuring a cast iron stove. The modern bathroom has a shower and toilet. Enjoy the morning sun in the garden or on the cosy patio equipped with garden furniture and a wooden hot tub.

The Old Cottage is located on our farm site so you will have shared use of our lovely garden, berries and of course the beautiful view. You can also use the outdoor fireplace for a BBQ or just to sit by the fire place and relax.

The river ‘Svartån’ and lake ‘Hällsjön’ surrounded by stunning wetlands are within walking distance. Canoe's-, wooden boat with silent electric motor-, bicycles-, guided beaver and wildlife safari tours can be rent and booked on site!

Our small scale company have been evaluated and certified by the Swedish label 'Natures Best'. This guarantees that our accommodations comply within the strict framework of the Swedish board of Eco Tourism.

Additional costs - to be payed on site:

Package with bed-linen & towels costs 18 Euro per person per stay or per change. Or you can bring your own bed-linen and towels (single bed size is 200cmx90cm). The usage of bed-linen on our beds is obligatory. Sleeping bags are not alowed.

The geographical central region of 'Vastmanland County' (Västmanland län) is very attractive because the long lasting history of the Swedish iron industries. Nowadays you can visit the most impressive Sala Silvermine, the world famous Skultuna brassworks, and the Strömsholmen channel lock sytem. All surrounded by the fantastic rural natural landscape. The Mälaren archipellago at Västerås city is splendidly beautiful and offers boat tours during summer and lovely ice skating during winter.
