Description

A private 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, cottage with over 600 feet of lake front that allows pets.

We currently have two cottages, sharing 57 acres. The second cottage, named Eagle View Cottage, is over 300 feet away, about a city block, we left trees in between the cottages so that they are private from each other. We do NOT rent both cottages to large groups. Too many bad rental experiences to large groups.

The cottage is located about 200 feet back from the water with a screening of trees towards the water. You have a great view from some of the seating areas closer to the water but a limited water view from the cottage. There is a volley ball net (during warming weather), horse shoe pits, a sand box and about a half an acre of lawn at this cottage. There is a dock, with a boat lift for aluminum fishing boats. There is also a buoy for tying up larger or a 2nd boat. The cottage also comes with a canoe, included in the rental cost or you can rent 1 or 2 kayaks. Many people, very young to elderly, have enjoyed swimming off the dock.

COTTAGE LAYOUT (there is walk through video of the cottage on our personal website just do an Internet search for discovervr white pine vista. It should be the first listing.)

From the front walkway, it is a half step up to get in to the main entrance hallway. Turn left to the master bedroom, or right to the kitchen.

MASTER BEDROOM

You have a queen size bed, large closet, drawers, reclining chairs, windows out toward the lake.

MASTER BATHROOM en suite

A 4 piece bath with a separate large soaking tub, separate shower, toilet, sink. We have at least one blow dryer in this cottage.

KITCHEN

The kitchen has a large fridge, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave and a decent amount of dishes, cutlery, etc., for a rental cottage. There is a table with 6 chairs here.

At the back of the kitchen is a door to the utility room. At the front is a window.

UTILITY ROOM

At the back of the cottage is a full size stackable, washer, and dryer. A second 'beer fridge', laundry tub and the property well pump and water purification system. Out the left side is another room about 8' wide by 20 feet long that isn't heated. This is a storage room and can also act as a mud room. There are various kids toys, kept in here. Leaving at the far end of this room you come out at the lighted BBQ shed and near the fire pit area.

FAMILY ROOM

Immediately beside the kitchen (to the right of the main entrance) is the family room. It has a 42" TV, Satellite Package which includes movie, kids and sports channels. There is an XBox system. A couch, an sofa bed and coffee table. There is a book shelf with books, DVDs. There is also a phone here. There are windows to the back and front. There is a 2nd door leading out to the front of the cottage. This door is seldom used.

At the back of the family room is a hall which leads to the 2nd and 3rd Bedrooms and the 2nd Bathroom.

2nd BEDROOM

This is the smallest bedroom and contains a double bed, closet and night table. There is a window looking out towards the front of the cottage.

3rd BEDROOM

The Master and 3rd Bedroom are both fair size rooms and work great for 2 separate couples to each have nice bedrooms and be at opposite ends of the cottage. This room has a queen size bed. A bookshelf with games/puzzles. There is a closet and a large window looking towards the west.

Being winterized, the cottage is a great place all year around. Summer is typical lake side cottage living.

Fall/Autumn is great to take in the change of leaves. This event tends to happen around the last week of September to early October but changes based on when the cooler weather arrives. There are a number of nature activities at this time of year (leaves, salmon run, bird migration).

In the winter take advantage of snowmobiling, cross country skiing, ice fishing. We will provide a hut for ice fishing but otherwise you need to bring your own equipment for all of the various winter sporting activities. Enjoy the various animal tracks after a fresh snowfall (from mice to rabbits and deer and others there are usually a number of tracks in the snow).

Spring brings the bird migration to the island. It is awesome to see the lake edges where large populations of water fowl spend time during the migration. You'll likely see a lot of birds you don't see further south. Rainbow trout swim upstream to spawn at this time.

Rates displayed here are for 1 to 6 people. There will be additional charges for the 7th and 8th person. The extra charge various depending on time of year and is $77/person/week during high season and less at other times of year.

Getting around

The cottage is about 7 minutes away from the closest town. You'll ideally have a vehicle to get to the cottage and around. Once at the cottage you could enjoy cycling around the island with the cottage as a good central location.

Interaction with guest

We live in Kitchener, just over 6 hours away so we likely will not be on site when you arrive. We have an electronic door lock and will send you a code over email to access the property. We have a neighbour who lives nearby who is available to help out when you are on site.

Dogs, especially larger ones, should be kept off the furniture, especially the beds. We reserve the right to charge an additional $50/hour for extra cleaning to remove pet hair off furniture, or if the cleaners need to spend extra time cleaning up the cottage after you leave. If extra cleaning fees are required your credit card will be charged based on the number of extra hours it takes to clean the property.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Larry & Laurie (the owner) a message.

If Larry & Laurie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
