25% discount applied on remaining summer dates to Aug. 31st! Traditional Newfoundland charm, an amazing ocean view but yet so close to St. John's and all its attractions, this cottage offers the best of both worlds.

Located in the historic and picturesque town of Flatrock, this traditional old cottage sits right on the ocean with a magnificent unobstructed view of the Atlantic Ocean. It is located just a 15 minute drive from St. John's airport (YYT).

The cottage has been fully updated and restored for your comfort including a large wrap around deck to enjoy the sights, sounds and smell of the ocean including icebergs, whales and fishing activity. The natural geological beauty is evident everywhere you look. There is also a small pond with trout, ducks and a fountain alongside our property just off our deck!Oceanside park is located on the other side of the pond and is suitable for children.

Inside the cottage, it is equipped and well stocked with everything that you need to move in! All soaps, detergent, paper products, foils, coffee, tea, condiments, cable TV and wifi all provided. There is a cooler and camp chairs as well if you would like to get even closer to the enjoy to enjoy,

The East Coast Trail has trail heads a short walking distance from the house. This makes our cottage ideal if you are hiking the trails. The trails are world class with spectacular views along the coastline.

For those booking, we email a PDF information booklet upfront for trip planning outlining the house amenities, directions, town information and the must do attractions in the area. We are originally from the area and can help you with any vacation planning or trail hiking suggestions.

We have sister property close by - Historic Seaside Cottage operating for the past 5 years providing our visitors an amazing Newfoundland experience and all 5 star reviews on Tripadvisor, including the Certificate of Excellence the past 3 years in a row.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Paul (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
