Description

Rental Unit is the lower level of this cottage. No access to the upper floors for your rental.

This year round waterfront cottage is located a short drive from Midland and Penetanguishene. It features panoramic views of Georgian Bay, morning sunrises and a beautiful sandy beach for a comfortable and relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage comprises the lower level of a two level residence. The lower level is a walk-out level with plenty of large bright windows and is a completely self-contained living area.

There is something for everyone to do whether it is lazy days in the sun while taking occasional dips in the bay or heading out to enjoy the many local events and attractions. The Midland/ Penetanguishene area is a favourite holiday destination.

There is parking at the front of the cottage and the entrance to the cottage is just a short walk down the large flagstone walkway to the rear of the cottage overlooking the sparkling waters of Georgian Bay.

Inside there is a spacious open living room, dining area, kitchen and cozy sitting area with woodstove, all with plenty of windows providing beautiful water views.

In the living room there is a 42” satellite TV and DVD/CD player. With one regular sofa and one large wrap-around sofa there is plenty of comfortable seating to enjoy a family movie night or watch the game. Two cozy occasional chairs in front of the woodstove provide a relaxed sitting area. In the dining area there is a table and seating for up to 9 people. The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge/freezer, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, kettle, tea pot, blender, and dishes and cutlery.

There are 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. One bedroom has a queen bed and a large window with fantastic bay views to wake up to each morning.

The second bedroom has a double bed and the third has two sets of bunkbeds and a single bed perfect for the kids. The bathroom is a 3 piece with shower, toilet, and sink.

Immediately outside your entrance door is a lovely flagstone patio with a covered area if you are looking for shade and an uncovered area if you want sun. The patio is a great spot for taking advantage of the bay view, watching passing boats, catching up with your family members, and relaxing with a good book and/or your favourite holiday beverage.

There is a propane BBQ for grilling up some BBQ feasts, and a patio table. After you have grilled your favourite vacation meal you can sit down to enjoy a family outdoor dinner while overlooking beautiful Georgian Bay.

The large grassed yard leads down to the shore and is a great place for kids to play. Be sure to bring your outdoor yard games. It’s just a short stroll to the lovely private sand beach.

The large beach is a great spot any time of day. You can catch some rays or relax in the shade with a good book and take in the great panoramic view of the aqua blue bay water. The covered dining shelter with concrete patio at the shore provides shade and the perfect spot for enjoying waterfront meals.

The shoreline is sandy and the water depth increases gradually for swimming or just splashing around. The lake bottom is a sand/gravel mix with some rocks (water shoes are recommended). This is also a great spot to launch your canoe or kayak if you have one.

If not there is a kayak and paddle boat available for your use at the cottage. On the beach there is a fire pit available for evening campfires, taking in the starry night sky, roasting marshmallows, and stories at the end of the day.

If you want to get out and explore the area, the cottage is close to many attractions. It’s under 10 minutes to Awenda Provincial Park where you will find several beautiful and natural beaches on the Georgian Bay shoreline, hiking and biking trails, and relaxing picnicking opportunities, only 20 minutes from downtown Penetanguishene and 30 minutes to downtown Midland where you will find plenty of shopping, dining, and sightseeing opportunities. Golf at one of several the local golf courses, experience the 30,000 Islands with a trip on the Miss Midland or the Georgian Queen both sightseeing and dinner cruises available.

Visit some of the many historically significant and interesting sites: the Martyr's Shrine, St. Marie-Among-the-Hurons - a restored native village, Discovery Harbour - a 19th century British military base with tall ships, King's Warf Theatre to take in a live play, Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre and Elmvale Zoo - great fun for kids, the Tay and Tiny hiking and biking trails.
