Description

Ethan's Escape overlooking Dorcas Bay is a well appointed cottage with wonderful views; is just minutes away from Singing Sands Beach Park. This lush property is nestled on an inlet, beside a mile long crescent-shaped swathe of rock and powdery sand, just minutes outside the settlement of Tobermory in the Bruce Peninsula.

Let the gentle sound of the lake lull and relax you; the lake breezes wafting through the full sized windows; the gentle fragrance of lemon thyme that tumble over warm limestone rocks that edge several beds.

Step out to the enormous entertaining deck, shrouded with lush mature shady trees, flowering shrubs and fruit bearing trees, just steps to your waterside dock equipped with your very own 5 person peddle boat. Backdoor deck has twin umbrella shaded picnic tables with seating for 8 with sunning lounge furnishings, gas BBQ and peninsula décor.

Each bedroom offers either queen, or double and single beds in each with storage and linen closet. A spacious 4 piece bathroom with vanity, toilet, tub and shower including a 2 piece bathroom on the lower level.

Fully equipped eat in kitchen with seating for 8+, boasts modern stainless steel appliances; fridge/freezer, dishwasher, jenn-air® range/oven, microwave etc.

Northern Bruce Peninsula is unto itself a World Biosphere Reserve; while Tobermory is the SCUBA diving capital of Canada!

There are 2 National Parks; Canada's first National Marine Conservation Park; 8 Ontario Provincial Parks; 4 Federation of Ontario Naturalists Parks, 6 Nature Preserves; several Wildlife Management Preserves; Canada's newest Dark Sky (astronomical) Preserve; a Mountain Bike Adventure Park, a High Rope Adventure Park, 7 Lighthouses; 2+ Art Galleries and a Museum are all within minutes to your retreat.

Northern Bruce offers 44 types of Orchids in every color imaginable (macro photo ops); Some of the rarest wildflowers and ferns can be found here (some 52+species).

The Bruce Peninsula is located on a major northern migration route, so many species of birds, such as the bald eagle, have their wintering grounds here. The highest concentration of nesting birds can be found in May and June. About 20 species of warblers breed on "the Bruce". One can easily spot blue jays, robins, woodpeckers, several species of humming birds, northern cardinals, finches, blue heron, several species of duck, loons, barn owl, migrating hawks and of course, the Canada Goose right around the cottage.

Northern Bruce offers more than 1000kms of groomed snowmobile trails, 500+kms of cross country ski trails, and a gazillion km of hiking trails (they're everywhere) along the Niagara Escarpment as well as inland. Snowshoeing, Dogsledding and Ice Skating (one can skate right at the back of the cottage) can all be enjoyed within minutes to your retreat. (Downhill skiing is 157km (Talisman Resort) or 161km (Blue Mountain) away from cottage)

How do damage deposits work?
