Description:

Away from the noise and concrete of downtown and located just a few blocks between Vancouver’s vibrant Main and Cambie streets. Come enjoy our brand new 2BR, 2 bathroom guest house with a large patio set amidst beautiful gardens in a quiet tree lined neighbourhood.

Be it a romantic getaway, executive stay, or family vacation we offer warm hospitality in a lovely setting close to everything Vancouver has to offer.

Buttercup guesthouse comfortably sleeps up to 5 people and we welcome families travelling with children. If travelling with small pets please let us know at time of booking as some restrictions may apply.

We are located 3 km from downtown and just 4 blocks from King Edward subway station with direct line to downtown Vancouver, Convention Centre and Vancouver International Airport (YVR). The bus line to the University of British Columbia is only 2 blocks away and we are a pleasant 20 minute walk to both Vancouver General Hospital and Children’s and Womens’ hospitals. Off street parking is also available for your car.

Buttercup guesthouse is brand new and impeccably designed and decorated with all the comforts and amenities of home. We offer a fully appointed kitchen, laundry facilities, bath and shower; HDTV , wireless internet and land line phone with free local calls. Two bedrooms with comfortable queen sized beds are provided, along with baby highchair, playpen/cot, infant change area and fold out bed for that extra person, if needed.

For the sports minded we have secure storage space for your skis, snow boards, bicycles, etc. We are only one kilometre from Nat Bailey Stadium, the Hillcrest Olympic Recreation Centre and the lovely Queen Elizabeth Park. No bikes inside the house, please.

Minimum stay is 3 nights in low season and 5 nights in high season (May through August).

My family and I had a wonderful stay here while visiting from Seattle. It is beautifully decorated, immaculately clean with not a speck of dust, and bright with many windows and skylights. My husband and 4 year old kept commenting on how clean the place was! It was well insulated so it was warm inside even though the weather outside was icy cold. The cottage was well supplied with all appliances, high chair, and kids utensils. It is conveniently located in a quiet area, but good food is 3-5 minutes drive away. The owner also nicely kept salt, pepper, sugar, coffee and tea in the pantry for use. James was also very thoughtful providing us with fruits, yummy muffins, and a milk for our kids on arrival. The owner was very prompt and responsive to emails which was much appreciated for a last minute trip out of town. Would definitely stay here again!"

We stayed at Buttercup for six nights and it was an absolutely fantastic "home" to hang out in. It is compact yet spacious, immaculately clean, light filled and beautifully decorated. Clearly, much thought went in to the design which allows for very comfortable living.The kitchen is particularly well equipped. Since it was snowy we could not use the patio, but could imagine ourselves enjoying sitting out there in summer.The hosts were very thoughtful and gracious and had delicious home baked muffins and fresh fruit waiting for us when we arrived late in the evening. We certainly will stay at Buttercup when next in Vancouver and highly recommend it."

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send James (the owner) a message.

If James (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
