Description

An older home with heritage features & new furnishings gives this house a cozy home feeling. Comfortable & charming, offers everything you need from an ipod music system to a fully stocked, full access kitchen and bbq. Private ensuite bathroom for each guest room recently created.

2 bedrooms, guest rooms rented separately, on the main floor offer Queen beds, dresser, closet, bed side table and a shelving unit and ensuite bathroom. Check the calendar and see if they are both available so you can bring a friend! There is shared living space in the living room and kitchen. I have my own space on the third floor.

The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking appliances and herbs and very rarely a conflict for space. Usually guests are on different schedules and it all flows rather nicely. With the beautiful beaches and hiking, the house is mostly for cooling down in the evening and guests tend to hang out in their rooms although I encourage the use of the living room.

We keep the house closed up tight in the summer and guests are amazed we don't have air conditioning. It is nice and cool inside and a great break from the summer heat. In the winter months you can warm up next to the gas fire place in the living room for that extra cozy experience.

Getting around

Walking is easy to town although there is a hill so if that is a challenge you are better off with a car. There is public buses although their service is limited. If you are here to see the sites, hike or hit the beaches, a car is best.

Interaction with guest

I do live at the house but for the most part am on the third floor. I work from home and am usually on the phone or the computer. I am happy to help in any way I can. Text message usually works best if I am working.

House rules

No smoking inside the house. If you are smoking outside, please use a can or bottle and wet the cigarette butts before throwing them in the garbage. The summers are very dry and fire is a concern.
No Parties. This is a quite house. Most of our guests are medical students, doctors and nurses coming to study or work at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
The house has been sound proofed fairly well and there will be more done over the next summer. You are free to live normally, talk normally etc.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
