Located on 25 acres of hillside overlooking the city of Vernon and Okanagan Valley, with amazing views all around you, you will love to vacation in this huge suite (1748 square feet) with its own yard and outdoor relaxation areas. We are only a 7-minute drive to the north end of Vernon and about 10 minutes to the south end. 15 minutes will get you to Kalamalka Lake, and 20 minutes to Okanagan Lake. Private and quiet, yet close to the city for all the amenities and excitement Vernon has to offer!

The views of the valley, the city of Vernon with Okanagan Lake and Terrace Mountain in the distance are incredible. At dusk, you will watch the sun disappear behind the hills then turn your gaze to the valley below you, the twinkling of the city lights will capture you, yet here you are in the quiet enjoying the fresh air coming down Vernon Hill, cooling you off, refreshing the air, you will feel calm and peace come over you.

The suite has 9' ceilings and is very spacious. It is half below-ground so stays a perfect temperature year-round. There are 2 bedrooms (sleeps 7 with one couple on a queen bed in the main bedroom with 3 on tween bunk beds and two more on a double bed in the other bedroom). The two double beds have new mattresses, so you will have a great sleep! A separate TV/playroom has been decorated with black leather furniture: sofa, loveseat, beanbag chair, ottoman and cube chairs which fit underneath (storage for toys). The 20' x 20' main bedroom, decorated with the romantic feel of the Victorian era, enjoys 800 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and a goose-down duvet, two large closets, a sitting area with a TV, a bookcase with lots of books for adults and children, an antique vanity and rocking chair, and a crib for the little one. The living room, with the couch set in a bay window and a chair close by, enjoys fabulous views, and there's an electric fireplace with two pub chairs for a warm cozy chat or just quiet time listening to the stereo (CD library provided). The kitchen is large and well-designed with everything you will need for meal preparation, and there's a table which comfortably seats 6 (7 if needed). You have your own laundry room with new washer and dryer, and a spacious, clean bathroom. Brazilian cherry flooring are in the front bedroom and the living room: gorgeous.

The property is close to everything - Vernon has nearly everything you can think of to do: beaches, water sports, boating, golf, waterslides, rock climbing, cliff diving, scuba diving, sky diving, hiking, fishing, skiing, antiquing, adrenaline sports, Okanagan Rail Trail. Loads of stuff to do.

Getting around

Vernon isn't a large city, so driving from place to place isn't difficult and lots of activities can be accomplished in a day.

Interaction with guest

Our small family of 4 lives on the middle and upper floors of the house, so we are usually available but do not interfere with your privacy. If you need anything, you can ring our doorbell, phone our home or call/text our cell phones. We have a cabin on Okanagan Lake and sometimes stay overnight, but we are only 1/2 hour away if you need us and always advise you of our plans if we will be away. If we aren't home when you arrive or depart, we will let you know in advance and give you instructions. We love Vernon and have lived here over 30 years, so we have tons of suggestions about things to do if you wish - all you have to do is ask :)

House rules

No smoking, no pets allowed. Sports court is available for guests but not tree fort (sorry!). Gatherings of 10 or more people must be requested with permission granted by owners in advance. No drugs, no drinking/driving, no illegal activities. Please recycle. In winter, 4x4 or proper winter tires recommended. See Rental Agreement.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Caroline (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
