Holiday villa in Florence

Florence villa

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Fabulous apartment, beautiful location, very friendly host” We stayed here for a week in May. We loved the apartment, it was clean, spacious, with a little terrace where we were able to sit and have our meals (there is also a large dining table inside). It was very peaceful. The apartment is situated in a quiet location about a 15-20 minute walk from the centre of Florence. There are also regular buses within a very short walk. Lucia was very helpful, a great host. We found the hob for cooking confusing to use so didn't do as much self catering as we intended, but this was only a very small minus and we would have no hesitation in recommending the Perfect Florentine Retreat. We spent around 25 days travelling in Italy and this apartment and Florence and the surrounding area were one of the highlights of our trip. We would certainly stay here again, we loved it.

“Magnificent Fully Equip Villa” Owners couldn't do enough for us. The views are breathtaking with a wonderful friendly restaurant just walking distance from villa. Pool is a added bonus, especially exploring the city all day. Great location, beautiful mountains surround the villa. Locals are very friendly and helpful, most speak English. Absolutely loved it, could live there. Local food tasty and in abundance and the wine, 'Wow'. The Villa is in a great location with everything you need, would recommend it to everyone. Fantastic. Thank You.

Tuscany holidays

Magnetic and charismatic, Tuscany has it all: extraordinary countryside, glorious coast, fabulous rustic food, and the world’s best art. Not bad for a region only a tad bigger than Wales. Whether you choose fascinating Florence or rural Pitigliano, you’ll never look back.

Fine Art & Even Finer Wine

This region of central Italy holds some of the world’s most important artistic treasures, including Michelangelo’s statue of David and many Botticelli masterpieces in the galleries of Florence. But art isn’t the only human creation celebrated here: the rolling hills surrounding the city are covered by a blanket of vineyards, their neat lines disappearing to the horizon.

Picturesque Panoramas

Throw open the windows of your villa or apartment in Tuscany and you’re pretty much guaranteed a jaw-dropping view. This could be the majestic peaks of the Apennine Mountains or the white sandy beaches of the Tuscan Archipelago’s islands, including Elba and Giannutri. Don’t miss the coastal clifftop villages of Cinque Terre, either, where narrow streets, colourful houses and pretty squares show a nostalgic side of Italy.

Flavours

Cookery classes are a favourite activity for visitors to Tuscany, eager to learn the basics to take home as an everlasting souvenir. Wasting food is a big no-no in Tuscany, so many of the region’s best-loved dishes, like Panzaletta and Ribolita, include stale bread and lashings of olive oil (harvested from groves scattered across the countryside). Another of the region’s famous exports is the rare and expensive truffle.

Chianni Holiday Collina House
Perfect - for 7 years now!

A wonderful, large house that hosts the 3 families of us with many many kids. We have been enjoying Casale La Collina for 7 years now - we return every year and have the best and most relaxing time in Tuscany. The pool is very big and totally clean - and it is safe, as there is a fence around it, what makes it very relaxing for us parents with many kids. The view into the Tuscanian hills is amazing. We come back every year! Thank you, Stefania!see more

Stunning apartments in the beautiful Tuscan countryside, easy drives to Florence and Sienna.

My husband, 3 children, 2 sons 22 & 18, and daughter 13 stayed for one week. We had adjoining apartments that were beautifully laid out and well equipped. We loved the terrace and BBQ, where we spent a few warm evenings eating barbecued Tuscan sausages and drinking Chianti - so relaxing. We also had some delicious meals out at some of the local restaurants, you could not fault a single meal the food was amazing. The pool area was enjoyed by us all, it was well kept and peaceful, I would thoroughly recommend this fabulous place, and look forward to returning one day.see more
Villa Checco among the hills and olive trees nearest to Lucca, Tuscany
Superb holiday

We visited Villa Checco to celebrate a number of milestone birthdays in the family and were not disappointed. The facilities were excellent with a wonderful pool for whole family to enjoy. We were blessed with fabulous weather for the whole week despite storms being forecast. Many thanks to our hosts, Michelangelo and Leonardo, who were wonderful, providing excellent local information, helping with our luggage and the Pizza night was simply amazing! Although we didn’t have a car, we managed to use the local transport to visit Pisa, Florence and Lucca with reasonable ease. It was certainly a holiday to remember and an area that we would love to visit again.see more
Barn overlooking the vineyards
Great stay!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this beautiful barn in the Tuscan hills. The views are lovely and if you want somewhere a bit more out of the way this is perfect. We were greeted at the property by Edoardo even though we were late arriving - there was some food for us to use which was brilliant. Edoardo was around if you needed him but otherwise left you to enjoy the holiday! Lying in the hot tub in the evenings- perfect! Many thanks, we would like to revisit this lovely part of Italy! Relax in the hot tub and take in the amazing view

We enjoyed two weeks taking in the mountain air in this lovely Tuscan villa. The views are amazing! A car is essential to access this wonderful area. The main shops and restaurants are a 10 minute drive down the hill, Aulla is a 30 minute drive away with a variety of supermarkets and restaurants. The owner made themselves easily accessible with great tips and information.see more
Recently restored farmhouse in Southern Tuscany, private garden and outdoor pool
Superb rural location, surrounded by trees, woods and farmland, fabulous private pool. Stunning.

This was a real find of a property-really is in the middle of farmland, hillside woods and quietness. That also made it difficult to find as the letting website puts the location a distance away from the property. I’ll echo other reviews who mention that some clear directions prior to arrival would help. We had to get Pamela, the owner out to rescue us. But once there, it’s a real find. The main house has two good size bedrooms and a toilet/shower room upstairs and a dining/lounge downstairs as well as the kitchen. The kids and grandkids stayed in there and it’s comfortable with probably the only gripe being the lack of a kettle and toaster. The stove providing the means in an old fashioned way of tea and toast preparation, but hardly a problem. We stayed in the lovely annex, which was very comfortable, nice decor and all you could want. Again, people have mentioned having a fridge to keep milk in for a drink, so you don’t have to go in the main house and I’ll agree, especially as there is a mini stove as well. It’s well positioned to visit lots of lovely local towns and villages as mentioned by other reviewers and they are literally 15-20 minutes away with Bolsena and Capodimonte (not the famous one ) 45 minutes away and really lovely places. Most of these places are not touristy, and seem to be holiday locations for Italians. I didn't see a British, German or French vehicle anywhere and similarly didn’t hear anyone speak anything other than Italian. So, it’s not set up for a lot of tourist activity. It’s not the wine growing region of Tuscany and it’s probably not the chocolate box countryside, it’s very agricultural, but it is still stunning and beautiful. The roads are deserted and it wasn’t unusual to drive to Pitigliano and not pass a car, if you’re into cycling this area is ideal. The temperature in August was very hot, in the mid to high 30’s and the days were spent almost invariably in the absolutely fabulous outside pool, at the hottest part of the day with trips out with a restaurant visit in the cooler periods of the day. The place was spotless and the pool was cleaned very early in the morning three times a week, the grass was kept tidy and Pamela and her family were very helpful and generous hosts. I would have no hesitation in staying again and would probably try a cooler period and try to find areas to walk, which didn’t appear to be well indicated or signed, except in Pitigliano, but it was a blink and you’ll miss those paths too.see more
