“Location, Location, Location” Beautifully situated in central Whitby, the Corner House is a pleasantly furnished cottage whose location cannot be faulted. Clean and well equipped, the owner was helpful and pleasant, and the cottage was surprisingly quiet given its position, especially given it was Goth Weekend and the town had many visitors when we stayed. The pre-arrival info worked smoothly, and the key safe mechanism meant no fuss when arriving or leaving. Fab shower with plenty of space, well-equipped kitchen and sociable living space. Beds were comfy and the whole experience was a pleasant one. To be honest, I couldn't fault it, but then I wasn't looking to. Good value for a pleasant stay in a wonderful place close to all amenities. You'd struggle to find a better location in Whitby.

“Practically perfect in every way” Stayed for a weekend as 2 couples. This is our 5th visit to Whitby but 1st time at this apartment. It's a basement apartment over 2ish floors. Instructions from the owner are excellent and upon opening the doors we were all blown away by how truly lovely this place is. The only item I couldn't find was a hairdryer but seriously that's about all I could think that it didn't have. The place is obviously well loved and attention to detail is fabulous. Bathroom is a great size - bath and shower. The beds were sooooo comfy - I think I slept like the dead! The living room is a great size, all 4 adults had plenty of room to relax with a cuppa after an evening out. Kitchen is well stocked...just being your own milk for a brew and any other bits you want to eat/drink. We only really had brews as we like to eat out when we're away. Location is perfect. It's on bagdale which is quite literally a 2 minute walk into the heart of Whitby coming in by the train station in the newer part of town. Parking has always been a nightmare in Whitby but there's enough room to pull up at the back, unload and then move the car to either a side street (if you're lucky enough to find a space) or one of the bigger car parks. I'd have no hesitation in recommending this place, turned out to be a great find

“Great Cottage, Great location, Great Gluten Free” Had a lovely few days at Crows Nest Cottage. Lovely spacious cottage. Clean and welcoming. Lovely touch of a welcome pack on our arrival. The location was perfect, we were able to walk everywhere. I have Coeliac disease and was extremely impressed to find so many places offering Gluten free. I managed to have a gluten free cream tea and fish and chips in one day! Highly recommend Quayside fish and chips and The Monkhouse Tea room. Thanks Jayne for such a great stay at your lovely cottage. Oh ..and the double bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in!

“What a great place” This trip was to celebrate my fathers 80th birthday and we chose Whitby by recommendation from a friend. My mother has dementia so it's been several years now since they have been on holiday. The appartment is in easy walking distance from the town and lively harbour area. Seal view is lovely and my parents spent much time looking at the views from the window, the weather was fantastic...... Caroline left a birthday card for my father a lovely thought and a nice personal touch. There were a number of books on the local area to help plan our stay. The apartment was spacious, clean and very quiet. The only very small improvement I would suggest is the pillows are poor and could do with replacing and I missed not having wifi, Internet access. My parents has a fabulous week, we went on the steam train to Pickering, newcomers day at Beverly races, walked on the sand at Scarborough and Robin Hood Bay. We ate in some great restaurants, the Magpie, the Quayside and Ragdale Hall..... I loved the apartment, Whitby and Yorkshire and when we return I would definitely stay at Seal view again.

“Good base for Whitby. Walking distance to town centre.” Good clean apartment with good facilities and wifi. A lift to 3rd floor. Walking distance to Whitby and its amenities. Grand daughter loved it, especially the TV in her room. Well equipped. Loved having dishwasher and washer dryer. Did not use our car while there. Walked locally. Excellent children's playground across the road. We struggled to understand the under floor heating system but managed in the end and were not cold. Would book again

“Great stay at Maritimus cottage!” We had a great stay at Maritimus cottage. The owner was brilliant from the beginning of our booking to the very end of our stay. He was helpful and fast with answering questions. There was a small problem with an outflow pipe which needed to be fixed during our stay. Which caused us no inconvenience whatsoever, however the owner brought us a couple of bottles of wine and some chocolates as compensation which we thought was a very nice gesture. I think he really cares about his cottage and his guests and you can tell that by how beautifully restored and maintained the cottage is. The location was perfect in our favourite part of Whitby. We've always wanted to stay at a cottage in Whitby and we're glad we chose Maritimus cottage.

“A Very Pleasant Stay” We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was very comfortable and we used the fan provided due to the unusually warm weather. This certainly helped keep us cool. We turned off the ventilation system when we went to bed as leaving it on would have woken up our baby. However, this is easy to do and didn't cause a problem. The parking facility is convenient and there's lift access if you don't like to use stairs. The lift can easily accommodate a pram and a family at the same time. We would certainly stay here again.

“Great holiday in a Fabulous Apartment” Just returned from our third holiday in Whitby and our second stay in Sean and Holga’s fabulous apartment in the old Metropole hotel building, West Cliff area! Whenever you’re out and about in Whitby, it’s easy to spot the Metropole hotel building as it sits on the headland very prominently! The apartment is first class, 2 minutes from the beach and has everything you need to make your holiday perfect, luxury furnishings, bedroom and bathroom accessories eg. Dressing gowns, slippers, hairdryers in each room, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand wash and body lotion too. More than enough power points and USB ports and I even found a lead to charge my power bank too! The kitchen has all the appliances you need with an additional separate freezer if needed. We used the washer dryer so came home without having to do more washing before our other holiday next week. The welcome pack is by far THE BEST...EVER! Prosecco, Juice, Bread, Eggs, Coffee, Tea, Cake, biscuits...and the list goes on! It was the Whitby Regatta while we were there so we struggled to find parking for the weekend but once that was over, it wasn’t a problem and parking scratchcards are provided by the owners! “Fabulous little cottage” Stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely time! The cottage is small but very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The garden was definitely the best bit, sat there every morning for breakfast and early evening too. Well located with a footpath opposite to walk into Whitby, about a mile away. We also cycled from Ruswarp along the Cinder Track to Robin Hoods Bay (fabulous place), a route that takes you over Larpool Viaduct with amazing views of the surrounding countryside. Whitby is a great place, very quirky! East side is better and the Abbey was breathtaking. Not much info on Dracula though (our main reason for visiting), we enquired in tourist information about the walks which we couldn't do as they started after our holiday but the staff there didn't know anything about the places of interest visited on them. Nothing in the town either which was very strange considering that Whitby is known the world over for Dracula! Loved the town though and would definitely return. Recommend a visit to Jackson's butcher's opposite Eskmoor Cottage, bought chicken kebabs which were delicious and other items from the deli. The shop in the village doesn't appear to have much stock! Tried to go to the local pub on Sunday evening but they only serve until 5, went and had tapas instead in the Blitz in Whitby, very good but expensive. Also had lovely fish and chips in Alexander's. Only downside to the cottage was no WiFi so unable to WhatsApp family or Google local info but a small niggle as accommodation was first class, will definitely recommend!

“Fabulous stay at September cottage” Just returned from a fab stay at September cottage. The cottage was lovely and clean with everything we needed. The bedroom with four poster bed was stunning with lots of room. Our six year old son loved the porthole on the stairs and the views of the abbey from the top floor. Lovely to have breakfast looking at the lovely views every morning. Great stay.. Will definitely return.

“What a surprise awaiting for us!” We were quite surprised to find the basket of goodies and the amazing cup cakes, on our arrival. We found the holiday house just beautiful, with every thing you could ever need, also very comfortable. I do feel a lot of thought had gone into the woodwork and joinery as i have never seen a hair dryer holder like that! We just loved the summer house and spent most evenings and afternoon tea's down their. We have had a very busy week. We have seen Dracula at the Abbey & Played golf at Snainton. Chilled out at Sandsend beach. Gone to Whitby museum, Had a go at rowing the boats and canoes at Ruswarp. Spent the whole day at Ravenscar. Went crab fishing at Whitby and waked along the Cinder tail. We do feel that we must retain as we have found so many other things to see and do.
