The apartments accommodation is spacious, bright and very comfortable, offering the highest standards throughout. The large living room looks out over the pretty courtyard and has modern furnishings, attractive pictures and plants together with many homely touches
The apartment is very well furnished with everything you need for a hassle free stay. From sidelights to crockery, you really do only need to bring your own personal belongings (we even provide hairdryers) The luxury kitchen is equipped to a very high standard with washing machine/dryer, dish washer, mircowave and everything you may need to make this a home from home.
The bedrooms are most attractive and comfortable. There are four bedrooms: The master bedroom has a four poster king-size bed with ensuite bathroom, and then there are 3 twin bedded rooms. One of these twin rooms can be joined using zip link beds to make a second king-size bedroom. We can also put in a fold out bed for a 9th person if required.
All linen, towels and bedding are provided at no extra cost.
Leisure facilities within the building, and exclusive to residents, include a private swimming pool and sauna. There are also basic weight machines and extra showers and bathrooms in the swimming pool complex. The pool is ideal for children and adults after a long day in the city.
There is also a roof terrace with spectacular rooftop views and in the central courtyard is a garden with barbecue. There is private parking for up to two cars, and we can provide a cot and high chair at no extra cost.

Fantastic weekend, perfect place to have as a base to view the city, the views from the roof terrace are amazing, shame we weren't there long enough to enjoy more! Host was there waiting for us and showed us around, also had bread milk and teas/coffee for our use so didnt have to rush out to buy basics.
We were a family of 6 women aged from 21 to 85 staying in this beautiful apartment. There was everything we needed and the host even left us bread, butter milk and teas and coffees for us to use, her daughter showed us around on arrival explaining all the facilities, which was a lovely touch. There are plenty of towels for everyone, so you don't need to pack any.The pool area and roof terrace are both worth a visit, they are very well kept. The location is great, you have a two minute walk to local transport taking you all over Edinburgh, we bought day passes for £3.50 on the buses and they are great value. Can't wait to go back.
Stayed at this apartment on a weekend break with five other women,what a lovely surprise this place turned out to be! it was very spacious, the overall look was of quality fixtures and fittings, with special attention shown to superior beds and bedding.The kitchen was fully fitted out with all appliances and again,quality utensils.There are two bathrooms,we managed without having to use the extra facilities in the gym area.It was a very short distance to the bus stop for numerous buses into Edinburgh and beyond!This apt., was extremely clean.May i also recommend guests to visit The Dome in the city,the food was excellent and the decor spectacular.We will definately be visiting 1,James Square again!xThank You Frederika.
Spacious and well-equipped apartment with comfortable feel. Nice indoor pool. Sauna looked nice, but was having temporary functional problem during our stay. Weight/exercise room was primitive. Easy bus ride to center of Edinburgh, somewhat long walk, though, and not a scenic section of town. But did not feel unsafe. Weather was dismal when we were there, and that probably colors all other perceptions. Close to a good grocery store and bus stops. Easy three block walk to Haymarket Train station for 25 minute bus to airport and train connections to Glasgow and Stirling. Very accommodating and extremely helpful hostess. No complaints from my kids regarding mattresses. King bed was comfortable. Pleasant furnishings.
Good apartment but communal areas slightly grim feeling. Bedroom 4 is NOT big enough for a twin but could easily fit third bed into one of the other twin beds. Slightly disconcerting having a mirrored ceiling on the king size bed! Mattresses in twin room very very hard! Not enough wine glasses for 7 people staying - and the glasses we did have had to be wiped before using as they were very dusty. Having said that the owner was lovely and extremely accommodating and helpful. Probably wouldn't use the apartment again due to location in not particularly great area and uncomfy beds.
Hi Harriet, Thank you for your review. We are always looking to improve our apartments and take any comments on board. Since you stayed, we have put more glasses into the apartment and requested our cleaners to check they are clean before each rental. Unfortunately dust does build up when they aren't in regular use.
