Brussels Basilica Bed & Breakfast

Our house is located in Ganshoren, in the northwestern part of Brussels. The capital city and home of the European Community commission is made of 19 « communes » and Ganshoren is known as a quiet residential area with many parks (Elizabeth's Park, King Baudouin's Park and the Laeken Woods). For international travelers, our home's location is certainly convenient : the Grand Place is reached in less than half an hour by public transportation, , the Atomium and Brussels Expo a mere 10 min car ride away. A 20 min cab ride will get you from here to Brussels international airport (Zaventem). Free parking space is always available in front of the house or neighbouring streets !!

Originally built in 1930 our house changed ever so slightly its configuration. This beautiful « Maison de maître » (i.e family townhouse in Belgium) had been converted into offices when we purchased it in 1999. We set ourselves to renovate this home and fit it to our modern lifestyle, but without damaging its original, unique features. During your stay, you'll be able to appreciate if we did a good job!

While you stay in Brussels, we kindly invite you to share our home with us :

The ground floor : is where Avi has his dental clinic (yes, he is also a dentist, in his spare time…) Our backyard is Japanese by inspiration with pebbles. We have a large aviary there.

On the second floor : are our kitchen, dining & living rooms. As we both enjoy the pleasures of food, we tend to consider the kitchen to be the heart of our house. Here is Franck’s kingdom, where he shall prepare a scrumptious breakfast for you every morning ! You will get a taste of his great cakes (or tarts) & homemade jams, along with sourdough bread and fruits.

Although we usually treat breakfast as a sweet business, we’ll be glad to add eggs, to suit your taste. From 7 to 10 am, join us around the table for a cup of coffee or tea. Of course, genuine hot chocolate (Franck’s favorite) is always available : we are in Belgium after all !

Breakfast will be served in the dining room, next to our kitchen, so you can share our home in a pleasant way, i.e. around food. The furniture is a collection of Avi’s huntings in second-hand and antiques' shops from around the country. Although we mix old and new in the house, we tried to preserve the noble character of this room. Candles are lit while we take our meals there.

The salon overlooks the garden at the back of the house. Weather permitting, Franck will be happy to serve the breakfast oudoors, so you can enjoy the morning sun.

The third floor: is our private floor. Our dogs, Laura, Ashley & Choopa, also overnight there. On this picture you can see our friendly pets taking a sun bath. Running up and down the stairs all day long, keeps them quite fit. Unfortunately, we cannot allow other pets to visit us.

The fourth floor and the attic : will be your quarters while staying with us. You'll reach this floor through a private staircase. You'll most certainly enjoy this spacious room (circa 40m2) and its adjoining bathroom.

This room includes :

*A double bed (which can be converted into 2 twin beds).
*A sofa (can also be used as a bed for one or 2 kids <10 years old).
*A TV set with a parabolic antenna & about 1500 stations from all over the world + a DVD player.
* ADSL internet cable connection.

Your private bathroom includes:

a bathtub.
*A sink and toilets.

In the attic :

* A double bed
